Might get sketchy today. As in, your house might not be in Kansas anymore if one of today's tornadoes hits. Heads up Wichita State, Tulsa, and even SMU fans. Could be the biggest tornado outbreak we've seen in a few years. Or it could be a bust. Who knows. Everyone just stay safe.

I was on the road during the 2011 outbreak. On the day of the Tuscaloosa tornado, we would have passed pretty nearby, but after seeing some ominous warnings on the Weather Channel that morning, I convinced my band mates to route around it. Added about two hours of drive time, but they thanked me later that day when we were watching the destruction live on TV at a Denny's near Memphis.

Dang, that was a bad storm. It certainly rivals any outbreak we've seen in Oklahoma. At least in my life time.

I know Greenville isn't a huge place, but do they not have any local sports bars they can host from? I mean, that's like having the coach's show at Outback or Olive Garden.
Having done some storm chasing in the past I sometimes follow the storm chaser chatter on days like this. Some seem to be questioning the SPC's decision to issue a high risk area, including thought that SW OK may spawn more severe storms than KS. Yet others worry it could be quite explosive. Lots of differing opinions.

I've read similar talk from the national weather service stations and news stations. Seems to be variance from source to source and none of them can quite figure out what's going to happen. I guess we'll see what happens!
PDS Tornado Watch just went up and storms are firing in SW OK, and North TX.

Had some sparse roof damage in the city of Muskogee and Muskogee county and some of the tents blew down at Mayfest festival in Tulsa as well as a tree or two blowing over in the area, but evidently thats about it. We do have another round of spring storms scheduled for later today. Probably similar to yesterday.
BTW, the late Bill Paxton hung out a lot in and around Tulsa when filming "Twister". He was a nice guy and very good actor. I really enjoyed him in "True Lies" as well - he was hilarious. RIP.

Gotta love Bill Paxton! Too bad I wasn't quite old enough to remember them filming Twister. Also glad that nobody was killed or seriously injured yesterday from what I've heard. My manager got some damage down in the Wagner/Muskogee area though.

Yes Greenville has local sports bars and restaurants. Logans has just always sponsored the coaching shows. I believe it started when Steve Logan was the coach.
