RE: Can we all agree that if the Big 12 implodes...
Meanwhile back to the Big 12 imploding......I've been hearing some rumors of OU to the SEC of late from some connected SEC buddies at UGA, UTK, AU & LSU consistently claiming an OK invite is in the works. I don't think their info is first hand but these guys either played at these schools or are big time donors & they are not given to such speculation generally. I didn't take this as meaning imminent but rather when the existing contracts made it feasible.

The B12 isn't imploding any time soon. No one is going anywhere until GOR is up.

Reading what has happened at Missouri, you would think the same would be the case at Baylor...however, there is a religious affiliation with Baylor, and people tend to excuse/convince themselves that they follow those tenets as an institution still. Plus, as a private school they don't have to report enrollment figures, so they very well could be having major issues.

The big12 IS imploding right now TODAY!!!, just like a massive giant star collapsing in on its own dying matter to become a white dwarf only to explode in a giant slimming scum of ejected schools to be dispersed into the abyss better known as " see ya, wouldn't wanna be ya!"...

BU is throwing CRAZY money at kids to fill their classes. Kids who 5 years ago might have been accepted but offered nothing are now being accepted and offered aid.

96% of freshman receive aid.
95% of freshman are getting grants/scholarships

Those are very high figures compared to other privates in the area. TCU is 76-65 in those same numbers and SMU is 76-73.

That whole school is tainted.

After all of this Baylor might be the cleanest school in the FBS. Yes and yes again.

LOL

They said the same thing right after Baylor's basketball player on player murder, and cover up by their head coach who was also covering up for his paying of the player's tuition.

I bet they move on to White Collar crime next. The Baylor AD is gonna embezzle money to contribute to the Ponzi scheme their President runs on the side.

Full disclosure: I have a distant cousin, Maddux Miller, who will be pitching for Baylor beginning next academic year. So unfortunately, at least when Baylor isn't playing my Coogs, I will have to root for those wacky Baptists from Waco while he's on the roster. (But it's only in baseball, Thank God.)

As long as Texas & OU is in the XII, implosion is not likely. The XII is making a lot of money as a 10 team conference. However, if the major sports networks devalue the conference at the next round of TV contracts, then U would BE correct. We shall see soon.

Here we go. PAC takes UT, UH, TCU and SMU to wrap up the large metros of Texas (8+mil subscribers in Dallas, Houston and Austin alone in Central Time Zone). Big 10 finally takes UConn and Kansas (giving Rutgers someone to beat in football). SEC snags OU and WVU. The rest merge with AAC plus Boise/Army/AF/CSU football only and keep Big 12 name making P5. NOTRE DAME and BYU remain indie. Oh well, could happen in a perfect world.

Even though tcu will no longer be needed with SMU's addition IMHO, I would be ok with those four going to the PAC.

Huge amount of potential in this conference though... I would much rather Houston remain here and instead witness and reach the AAC hard fought ultimate goal, the well earn significant tv $$$ deal for everyone.

On that note, how the hell did they manage to hire a competent coach like Rhule? Of all the places to go to, and he picks Baylor. Geeze.

$4,900,000 a year for 7 years guaranteed even if NCAA drops the ban hammer

Oh, you didn't hear? GOD told him to go....

*cough* 5M/year no state income tax *cough*
