Exclamation G5 Conference Ratings
Last year was the first year the SBC has not finished in last place in the Massey Composite since 2012. The SBC looks a lot stronger this year with nearly everyone on the upswing. It would be nearly impossible to pass either MWC or AAC, but I do think we can stay in front of the MAC and CUSA.

1. SEC
2. ACC
3. PAC12
4. BIG10
5. BIG12
6. AAC
7. MWC
8. SBC
9. MAC
10. CUSA

RE: G5 Conference Ratings
Imagine where we could've been if a certain two Sun Belt teams had not made poor offensive coaching hires...

Why "nearly impossible" to pass the MW? Unlikely? Sure. But we have some really good teams at the top of the league. I do think the AAC has the no. 1 spot on lockdown.

I'm pretty sure we've finished higher than them before....

'12 and '16 are the only years we haven't finished last in the massey ratings.

We finished higher than the MWC in the BCS standings one year. I know it's not Massey, but it was the payout system at the time (now the CFP) and I would rather finish higher there than worry about Massey's composite.

I'm pretty sure that was 2013. I believe the SBC finished third in the old BCS standings and received a correspondingly larger payout.

The last year of the BCS, the Sun Belt was number one. No revenue to show for it though...

Maybe we were listed that way by the BCS computer system. But I have a hard time believing we were ever the best G5/Non-AQ/Non-BCS conference.

The massey's are important because they reflect national perception.

In 2013, the Sun Belt finished #1 among all G5 conferences in the last year of the BCS. The Sun Belt had the highest payout, and every team got approximately $1 million each.
