He didn't graduate and the student handbook still has polices against it. Still looking for a married Gay student at the Lynchburg campus.

Not aware of any married Gay person or Jewish person employed as a full time staff member at LU.

You'd have to get a copy of the Liberty Way handbook to do so. IIRC, It uses a prohibition on sex outside of heterosexual marriage, which excludes 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of LGBT persons. My last reading of it wasn't that it said it was bad or not optimal, but it mandated discipline for being Gay and not being a lifelong celebate.

You can download the employee handbook too.

That is if they didn't hide them behind a password protected firewall again.

you suck at google.

https://www.liberty.edu/media/1210/Stude...r_Code.pdf

Quote:Sexual relations outside of a biblically ordained marriage between a natural-born man and a natural-born woman are not permissible at Liberty University. In personal relationships, students are encouraged to know and abide by common-sense guidelines to avoid the appearance of impropriety. Activities outside of these standards and guidelines are violations of the Student Honor Code.

There is no similar reference in the employee handbook. Though I'm sure you could twist something into a negative for gays.

While the guidebook you referred to isn't the same one I've seen on the liberty.edu website for employees....the student guide book does appear to mandate at least the right to expel someone for being gay. Still trying to navigate thru the LU website to find the policies.

Here's an application for employment

https://www.liberty.edu/media/1312/appli...102009.pdf

Note item 6 and 7. How can a non-Christian comply with that? Looks like they just moved all the other stuff to the application so they could have a cleaner employee handbook and pretend that they still aren't absolutely discriminating, when the reality is that it appears that they have defacto stated bans on non-evangelicals and non-straight persons. If the employee handbook refers to policies and statements not listed and then has those policies listed elsewhere, then its really part of the whole set of rules.

And also, this is an application for adjunct employment for their on-line college. Do you think that their requirements for full-time professor and athletic department employees is going to meet a lower threshold of tolerance for Gays, Trans persons, Jews, etc.? LOL.

That is the percentage of people that are not life long celibates. We're also discussing the very vital area of Athletic Department EMPLOYMENT too. It is an area where LGBT persons and non-evangelicals are not well represented nationally.

Read the policies. Being a married LGBT student does violate their "Honor Code". And there are potential penalties for violating them. If a student at LU were to be tossed for marrying a member of the same sex, then the school is specifically reserving the right to expel them for it, using the language you guys put up there. This isn't even a minor reach. If they don't intend to use it to kick out LGBT married students, then they could rework the mission policy or the discipline policies around it.

Or...you could just ask them... Do you welcome married LGBT students who are presumably having sex like other married couples with their partners? Is there any potential discipline for being in a same sex marriage and like 100 percent of straight couples, disclosing that fact publicly. Of course they won't answer that....LOL.

Or ask them. If a AD candidate or coaching candidate isn't Christian and cannot sign their ridiculous application statement, can they be eligible for employment at LU?

You're moving the goalposts. I maintain that LU has policies designed for the specific purpose of firing or disciplining (up to expulsion) any LGBT student/employee or non-Christian employee that actually appears to be LGBT or non-Christian.

You keep trying to refer to the fact that LU doesn't say "Gays will be automatically thrown out of school or their job if they are found out", with LU reserves the right to fire or discipline a student or an employee if they are Gay and married to a member of the same sex, which appears to be the current policy. From my perspective, there is ZERO difference between the two policies.

And how can a Jewish person apply for a job at LU if they don't believe in their mission statement on the application. Doesn't it also require them to notify the school if the change their beliefs?

Saying that you can be Gay, so long as you don't have sex....is the same as saying ... you can't be Gay. I use the marriage example, because they have policies allowing for sex if the employee or student is married to a member of the opposite sex.

moving the goalposts again... typical. A fraction of a percentage. 07-coffee3

I'll make it easy for you... link a gay student that was kicked out of Liberty University for being gay.

Read the policies. Being a married LGBT student does violate their "Honor Code". And there are potential penalties for violating them.

Don't need to prove a negative if the schools own policies reserve the right to expel or fire for it.

I've proved my point. If you don't see it, nothing I say here, including a list of expelled students is going to convince you.

Bottom line...LU has policies and procedures in place to remove students and employees that are openly LGBT.

Because Liberty is a religious based institution and LGBTUVWXYZ is against their religion.

Simple solution.......if you are a degenerate don't apply for admission or for a job at Liberty as obviously their religion based code of conduct isn't for you.

MarineVet, save your thoughts and keyboard strokes. Tom has won this argument. He has again, for the umpeenth time hi-jacked another LU thread and made it about his personal crusade to bash LU.

The topic of this thread is about Liberty announcing it's 2018 schedule, not about Tom's vendetta against LU, or his personal position on gay rights, or transgender rights, or queer rights, or lesbian rights, or any other kind of civil or personal rights. It's about a football team's 2018 schedule. Or when Tom participates, LGBT rights.

But you see, your institution is asking the taxpayers of New Mexico, Massachusetts, and New Jersey to pay Liberty while they discriminate.

There is a massive issue here, and that is discrimination. Especially in athletics. There's virtually zero LGBT participation. Maybe if there were a significant number of FBS LGBT coaches (there are current zero), Athletic Directors (currently 0 - there is one at an A-10 school), or even players on FBS squads (currently 0), there'd not be as much of an issue.

Again, any time LU wishes to present itself as mainstream or acceptable, it is in the interest of every single person that doesn't support widespread employment discrimination and marginalization of LGBT persons in sports to question LU on it. Because if LU gets mainstreamed, then so does systematic exclusion of LGBT persons from wide areas of employment and participation.

Its not about your football schedule. Its about who wishes to further the exclusion of LGBT coaches, administrators, and players from masculine sports.

Still not proof of discrimination of the alphabet soup community.

As someone who doesn't like Liberty one bit, I don't understand all the fuss. If you don't like the program, then just don't watch LU play.

If we want to talk about discrimination in the LGBT community, then there are better places to start. LU is just another religious school, and not too much else.

No one is coercing you to watch the freaking games.

Actually LU is coercing the taxpayers supporting those public schools paying them to play to pay their own money (taxes/student fees) to further that discrimination. This is a real issue.

The only thing that straight people seem to care about is their sports, IMHO.

And its not like anyone can point to male Gay athletes coaches administrators at D1/FBS schools either. Maybe 1 AD at an A-10 school and an Asst AD at TCU. No coaches. No assistant coaches. No players.

And now. LU wants the taxpayers of New Jersey and Massachusetts to pay millions to LU that could have gone to a program that will actually allow Gays and Jews to participate.
