Maybe so. I think the major issue you run into with a league like ours is that we never really know how good our best team is. This is unlike other leagues who have multiple teams vying for tournament inclusion each year...I think they get a better picture of the strengths and weaknesses of their teams.
Our leader could be really, really good...or, they could be just shy of mediocre and still win our league most years.
Personally, I think a middle of the pack SEC team would win our league easily most years.

MTSU beat Vandy last year. MTSU - tops. Vandy top 5 SEC.
The SEC tends to have the don't play them so you can use the they haven't played anybody excuse.

Who a team has played is public record. Who has been asked / invited / begged? but refused to play them is not so easily determined. This is a common problem for the better G5 teams in both revenue men's sports who deservedly feel they have earned the right to home & home contracts with top P5 teams..
