When it comes to progress in the classroom, Rice is the best in Texas.
The private school in Houston had the highest Academic Progress Rate of the state's football programs, according to information released by the NCAA on Wednesday. Rice, which had an APR of 984 for 2015-16, is one of three Conference USA schools that outpaced the rest of Texas' Football Bowl Subdivision programs.
