It isn't a big deal if you whiff 100 times as long as you hit on all of your needs. Haruna isn't any different than the bigs that we landed, so this isn't a big deal at all. We badly need a point guard.

we offered Darrington, and probably Dickerson...I don't see where we offered Haruna a scholly.
that's like saying we lost out on Hughes...you can't lose what you didn't offer.

True, the article did not state that we offered. It stated "pursued by Memphis, Charlotte, VCU and others.". Therefore, it is more accurate to state we went after him, but failed.

We evaluated him and then backed off. Hughes we took our time, and he didn't care to wait.

we 'pursued' Hughes to the point of having him on campus and Tubby flying to Dallas to watch him play...but we never offered...thus, he took an offer from ISU
you can't get what you don't offer.
we need a guard who's quick, has a good handle, and can hit 3s...that ain't Usman Haruna

Most teams would take that though...That may be the issue.

but that's not our need...we need a guard.
I mean, didn't we just sign Mike Parks, Thornton, and Davenport? (to go along with Enoh)
we don't need another big, we need a quick guard who can hit 3's
We really should ignore the scholarship limit and sign every recruit we're involved with. We'd have a massive bench (would have to add more chairs), but SO much depth.

I call that width. But sometimes I'm looking at the deeper meaning.

How did Haruna reject an offer when Memphis didn't even extend an offer? This kid was offered by VCU, Charlotte, Duquesne, Iona, Jacksonville, NC A&T, Stetson and ECU.

Try again.
True,I assumed "pursued" meant "offered". I erred.
