CMU leads WMU early in game 2.

#1 seed CMU scored a run in the first inning but got shutout the rest of the way as #8 WMU wins 3-1.

CMU will face #5 Ball St. in an elimination game at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

#4 KSU will play #8 WMU at 1:00 p.m. Thursday.

Miami and Ball St. were eliminated. Due to the Rain into the morning yesterday, the games were delayed 5 hours or so. The last game didn't finish up until almost 1 AM. Weather should be much better today.

#3 NIU eliminates #1 CMU and #8 WMU eliminates #7 Akron. They will meet at 6:00 with the winner advancing to play the loser of the winners' bracket game going on now between #4 KSU and #2 Ohio. Ohio just scored in the top of the 5th to take a 1-0 lead.

Ohio now up 2-0

Look like Ohio's going to playing for a championship tomorrow!

NIU beat WMU last evening and KSU just beat NIU 9-3 to advance to this afternoon's championship game(s) vs. Ohio.

In yesterday's game, the Flashes had a lot of opportunities early they didn't capitalize on, and OU came on late and scored a couple to win it.

Beautiful day for some softball!

The game is on ESPN3, btw. No score top of 4.

Flashes score in extra innings and win 1-0 in 8.

Championship game coming up!

Two HR's in the bottom of the first for KSU who leads 3-0.

And that's the way it ends: 3-0 KSU as the Flashes are headed to the NCAA tourney for the first time in 9 years. MAC POY Ronnie Ladines had 4 wins and 4 HR in the tournament and was the MVP.

Ohio made a good run but hitting let them down with the double shutout today and only scoring 5 runs in the tourney.
