Georgia Southern will play in Birmingham at UAB on Sept. 17, 2022 and the Blazers will return the home game on Sept. 9, 2023.

Don't count on UAB fans to travel to Statesboro. UAB doesn't have a large traveling fan base.

Georgia Southern fans like the games scheduled with UAB. Here is a link to the main GS messageboard. It also includes Eagle fans feeling about scheduling Ball State since it was announce along with the games against UAB.

Tyson Summers is a great guy but most GS fans have little faith in his head coaching abilities at this time after the Eagles offensive output last season. If he does not right the ship he will not last much longer at GS.

The Troy guy must be smoking crack. I've been to Troy every time and there have been more than 70 in my section every time.

UAB at Troy in 2013 in McGee's last year as head coach we had no less than 1,500 UAB fans in those stands.

Oh I know. I've been to all of them and 2013 might have been the smallest crowd we have brought and it was still over 1,500 easily.

Same here. I look forward to attending the game in B-ham due to having a special needs daughter & UAB being within a 2 1/2 hour drive from my home in east Alabama. Most of the GS games I am able to attend are road games within a 2-3 hour drive of home (Georgia State, Troy). With Statesboro being close to a 5 hour drive it is just to far for me to be able to attend without overnighting. So far I have not made the trip to USA but have attended 2 games at Troy, the GS game 2 years ago and their last home game against UNT when my nephew played for the mean Green. The Troy crowd was nothing to crow about. Also attend GS's game against USA in 2015 in Statesboro on the same day as the Iron Bowl, the USA crowd was only about 300 in my opinion. I would expect GS to bring a crowd of anywhere from 1,000 to 3,000 to UAB. The GS crowd number will depend a lot on what P5 the Eagle play that year and the number of fans that cannot make both road trips.

i agree, but they've only been D1 for a few years. Its not like they can expect to go 10-2 every year now that they've made the jump to D1..
