Another terrible home performance by Real Madrid. Lloris had 3 great saves especially the one on Benzema. Tottenham fans should be cautious because Real Madrid have been much better on the road this season and are finally getting healthy, except for Bale who is always injured.

My first thought in all of that, FC Cincinnati is going to be an MLS team as well as Detroit.

MLS cannot afford to have a 700 miles wide gapin hole in their coverage in the most populated region in America.

According to the census bureau its the 3rd most populous. 03-wink

The "Golden Triangle" (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania) is still arguably the largest target population...although I would understand why Texas makes so much sense, all of the "immigrants" do make attendance numbers much more gaudy.

What do you mean by "immigrants" ?

What do you mean by immigrants?

People who immigrated to the country who have more affinity for soccer than Americans? At least, that's what people who don't give a **** about the sport always tell me when I'm sitting and watching a game on a TV in the back of a restaurant.

Truth be told, the Latino population does show out, but only for the national team, as FC Dallas' attendance (which is worse than Columbus' oddly enough).

There are a lot of 1st and 2nd generation Americans in Texas. I watched a lot of Liga MX games and Mexico/Cent American national team games with them when I lived in Texas. And that's not including the Asian and African immigrant communities in Houston. Houston is the 3rd largest immigrant city in the US.

Yeah, you don't have to do much digging...just look at what happened any time a Copa game was held in Texas or Phoenix. There are a lot of soccer fans down there, but their affinity is for a different product than the MLS provides. I think Austin may be more the hipster union, which could be a good thing for their attendance, but if they are relying on the population demographics down there to show out, it probably won't happen the way they think it will.

Yeah, there are a lot of first and second generation americans that love soccer. It's just they don't care for MLS. And who can blame them? The quality of product is much less than what they get out of Liga MX.

That should be pretty evident looking at the National team picture. US Soccer is still in hot water for playing Costa Rica in New York with its High Costa Rican immigrant population, but most of those same people don't attend RBNY games.
