Must suck to pretty much lose two titles in 4 days against your biggest rival in your own stadium without scoring a single goal.

BTW, how Sergio Ramos can still get away with being an a$$ now that VAR is available is beyond me.

Oh please be barely hit Messi and Llenget gave him a vicious elbow, Pique is still the ultimate jerk and Cabron! You won however Barcelona fans still always whine about the officials.
I had to school some Barcelona fans at the bar about Spanish History. The 2 cities were on the same side during the Spanish Civil War plus Madrid was under siege for much longer and suffered way more casualties than Barcelona.

Looked pretty deliberate to me given Messi's bloody lip. Ramos had also deliberately tripped Messi by sticking his leg out behind him as Messi ran by on a previous play.
Add those to his elbow to Vidal in the second half and there is no way Ramos should have still been in the match. Ramos has a history of this. He is the most red carded player EVER in La Liga. I'll give you Lenglets foul but amazingly Lenglet got booked but Ramos nothing.

I enjoy watching Pique rile up Mardrid fans. Funny thing is he and Ramos are actually business partners off the pitch and get along fine.

I agree with the history stuff. I recently read Fear and Loathing in La Liga by Sid Lowe that chronicles the history of the rivalry. If you haven't read it I highly recommend it. The whole Madrid is Franco's team is embellished; however, there is no doubt he favored Madrid AFTER the Civil War. The DeStefano situation proved that. Even if Madrid wanted nothing to do with Franco post war there wasn't much they could do about so they just went along and it ultimately benefited them. Franco was more anti separatist teams such as Barca and Athetico Biloa and merely used Real Madrid to carry out his anti separatist activities, etc.

Is invoking The Spanish Civil War the Iberian version of Godwin's Law?

I read Fear and Loathing in La Liga when it came out and I agree that it is a fantastic book. Franco started to favor Real Madrid in the 50's when they started to win. He actually favored Atletico Madrid after the Civil War and the Galician Clubs since that was where he was from. Santiago Bernebeu did rebuild the club since the Old Administration was exiled, jailed, or killed. He was a Facist/Nationalist who did cozy up to Franco.

Just a reminder Sergio Ramos took a deliberate yellow card in the first leg
Because he thought the tie was wrapped up and didn’t want to be suspended for a quarterfinal

I'm sure that Ramos being on the field wouldnt have made any difference in Real shipping 4 to Ajax. lol

No, but after Ramos publicly said the tie was over, it made it much more glorious

Ajax were flat out better today. Real Madrid have had the best run in the Champions League/European Cup since their last run in the 50s to early 60s. 8 straight Semifinals which has never been done, 4 out of the last 5 Champions League Titles, and of course 3 in a row. Hala Madrid!

I was joking. Of course Ramos wouldve made a difference and he's an idiot for getting suspended on purpose in a 2-1 first leg.

Nothing for them to be ashamed of. Glorious runs like that have to come to an end at some point. Doesnt make them any less impressive. Now, can we have Bale and Modric back for free?

Not that it matters much but he will be suspended for the Opening group game in next seasons CL.
