What service do you use?

How is it price-wise?

How is it for product?

Directv is killing my wallet.

I do not have TV or home Internet. I grandfathered into Verizon wireless' unlimited plan and stream everything from the phone mainly using the phone as a hotspot to stream to devices. Of course I had to root the phone to do that. I predominantly use a Roku for most things. I share services allowing my dad to use my Netflix in return for things that require me to login to a cable provider.

Sounds like you need to consider one of the new streaming services.

Spectrum for internet (25 mb)

PS Vue - $34.99 around 70 channels. Tax included

Netflix - $10.00

My bill dropped from about $155 to $100 and another $20 in electric bill savings getting the energy hogging dvr boxes from the cable companies.

I have Directv. HD quality wise it is the best TV service on the market.

I used to sell Directv for a marketing company. Little tip...call them and ask for customer retention. They should be able to help you get your bill lowered.

If not I can tell you this since I don't sell it anymore. If you switch every two years between companies you get by far the best deals. It is just a bit of a hassle but it saves you a lot of money.

Good advice. We switched from Directv to Dish last year and have a 2 year deal on the price which is saving us about $80 per month for the combo of tv and Internet. I keep getting mail from Directv with promotions for this and that to get us back. Probably when our contract is up we will switch back if the price is right.

Good internet. 80.00. My wife has a home based business so I would have this anyway.
I have five tv's and two teenage girls.
I have four Roku's that stream everything.
Sling blue 25.00 a month. Get all the channels I care about but don't have ESPN (I don't care but some people do.
Netflix 10.00 a month.
Amazon prime 8.25 a month. (I would do this anyway, prime is a great service).
I also have antenna's picking up all my locals except NBC.
I use the network apps to watch any network show I like on demand (right now 1 NBC show, a fox show and surprisingly 2 cw shows).

I have found that switch dropping direct tv, I do very little channel surfing. I watch tv with a purpose. I use that extra time reading and getting a little exercise.

When football season comes around, I'll add the sling orange and sports package which sends my sling total to 50.00 a month.

I use Playstation Vue with the sports package. I had Sling for about a year, but I find Vue to be much, much better.

Curious about costs for those of you that stream games. I have data limits with my Dish Internet so I would be charged thru the nose for streaming football games.

Netflix
Antenna
Interent
Radio

Last and certainly least... Directv- With C-USA being all but eliminated from televised games, I have canceled my service. I found no need to continue paying ESPN to ignore my team, or pay for channels I never watched or supported. I hope they go bankrupt.

Google Fiber + 4 TV boxes, home phone and 1 Gb/s internet, plus DVR anywhere. Get every station I could want except BeIn Sports. $155/mo w/taxes for everything. Wouldn't trade all the options and convenience to save $20/mo. No way.

If its on TV sports wise I cam usually watch it.

I haven't had a home phone since the late 90s. Why pay for the same thing twice? Kind of my philosophy on Internet. If the wireless phone is going to require me to have Internet anyway why do I need to pay for more internet just at the house. My phone is always with me especially at home.

If you would have rather stayed with Direct....

you do two years then your wife signs up and switch back after her two. My wife and I do this. Going on year number 8 switching every two year. Always asked for the latest dish and DVR after your two years are up and they come out for a new install.

Another tip if a channel or group of channels gets dropped, even only for a few days. Call and act like those are the main reason you wanted Direct. Don't care if you watched that channel or not...you live and die for it.

They will offer you free movies for 6 months...don't take it, unless you really want the movie channels. I always get $15 to $20 off my bill for 6 months.

Switching every two years gets you that first year discount...NFL Sunday, and as I said, upgrades in dish and DVR, if they upgrade.

Uverse
ATT internet
Smart tv
Netflix
Amazon Prime video

Really enjoy being able to watch Uverse on my Iphone and Ipad with free Data. Nice perk that keeps me with Uverse and ATT.

RE: What TV service do you use at home? Directv? Dish? Other?
External antenna for local stations
MythTV and Homerun for recording local stations
CenturyLink 20Mbps for $30/mo.
Vue for $35/mo. (cloud DVR and most important thing for me - Fox regional sports for Twins, Wolves, Wild)
Ooma for home phone ~$4/mo.
Amazon Prime ~$9/mo.

So I think I'm spending around $80/mo, which I think it pretty good, although I did have to buy the Ooma, CL modem (used) and two Fire TVs. Probably going to drop CL for Comcast this month though, as they have a promotional price, and I already have the modem.
