At Music Fest, I want you all to know that Saturday night Ronnie Baker Brooks, who recorded at Royal Studios last year, brought down the Blues Tent with his band, and then proceeded to play another set with Big Head Todd and the Monsters that nearly rocked the tent into the river. On Sunday, Super Chikan from Clarksdale played a great set, followed by Memphis' own Preston Shannon and band extraordinaire, and lastly, Booker T. Jones (Booker T and the MG's) literally blew the top off with Green Onions and other Stax songs. What a scene for Memphis music!
Perfect weather, no mud, very nice crowds, big ole river rushing by ~~~ damn, it was nice.
