CUSA Softball Tournament
The CUSA Softball Tournament begins tomorrow in Hattisburg MS. These are the 8 seeds:

1 Marshall
2 FIU
3 LA Tech
4 FAU
5 UAB
6 Charlotte
7 North Texas
8 WKU

UTEP, MTSU, UTSA and USM did not make the field of 8. Rice and ODU do not have a softball program. Seeds 3 and 4 get a BYE while seeds 1 and 2 get a double BYE.

Day 1:
Game 1
5 UAB
8 WKU

Game 2:
6 Charlotte
7 North Texas

Game 3:
Winner of UAB/WKU
4 FAU

Game 4:
Winner of Charlotte/North Texas
3 LA Tech

1st day is single elimination

Day 2:

Day 2 is double elimination

Game 5:
Winner of UAB/WKU --- 4 FAU
1 Marshall

Game 6:
Winner of Charlotte/North Texas --- 3 LA Tech
2 FIU

Day 3
Game 7:
Winner of Game 5
Winner of Game 6

The winner of Game 7 goes straight to the Championship game. While the loser is sent to the losers bracket.

Game 8:
Loser of Game 5
Loser of Game 6

Game 9
Winner of Game 8
Loser of Game 7

Day 4:
Championship game
Winner of Game 7
Winner of Game 9

Championship game is single elimination.

Also CUSA Awards came out today:
Player of The Year: Morgan Zerkle - Marshall
Pitcher of The Year: Jordan Dixon - Marshall
Freshman of The Year: Shannon Saile - FIU
New Commer of The Year: Krystal De La Cruz - LA Tech
Coach of The Year: Shonda Stanton - Marshall

1st Team All Conference:
Catcher: Taylor McCord - Marshall, Morgan Harris - MTSU
Infielders: Hailey Pace - Charlotte, Stephanie Texeira - FIU, Emily Lochten - FAU, Kelli Schkade - North Texas, Morgan Zerkle - Marshall
Outfielders: Jackie Schoff - FIU, Morgan Turkoly - LA Tech, Precious Birdsong - MTSU, Lindsey Stewart - UTSA
Pitchers: Shannon Saile - FIU, Krystal De La Cruz - LA Tech, Jordan Dixon - Marshall

And for the 3rd year (and maybe 4th) in a row the host team did not make the tournament

You should root for the Herd of course. But Marshall RPI 26, FAU RPI 41 and most likely FIU RPI 51 are all most likely going to be at large if they don't win CUSA. There are 32 auto bids and 32 at large bids

Both Marshall and FIU have 40+ wins and FAU is setting at 36. LA Tech on the other hand who is the 3 seed is setting at 33 wins but their RPI is a killer at 97.

I want a Marshall CUSA win to send our seniors out on top but if not Marshall I hope its someone besides FIU or FAU, so we could possibly get 4 teams in the regionals.
