Alabama standard of living #6
from "Advisor"(May 2017) from PUMS-USA Census Bureau
Map of the 50 states colored according to MEAN income - for full time year round - for millennials (ages 18-34), 2015 The five color gradients were for 0 to $20,000; $20,000 to $30,000; $30,000 to $35,000 and $35,000 to infinity
Highest was Washington, DC at $40,046
Lowest was Miss. at $16,999 (States in lowest bracket:NM; MS; TN; NC; ME)
Alabama was in the $20,000 to $30,000 bracket.

Year round full time workers under 35 (except for ND - $30,434 and DC) made substantially less than the national average of $40,356 for workers 35 to 65.

The last MEDIAN income figure I saw for full time US workers was $38,000 per year.

RE: Alabama standard of living #6
BBJ reports that the only Wilcox county hospital will close soon meaning a 50 minute drive to the next closest hospital. Drive very carefully in rural Alabama because you may be an hour away from an ER to save your life since about a dozen rural hospitals have closed since 2000. That probably contributes to our state's rural auto deaths rate being twice the national average.
