The BE legacy money will be gone by 2019.....pay him while you can I guess. If he's the guy you really want, which it seems UCF does. I thought it was a bit early.

It is a 1 year extension, moderate raise, and bigger buy out. Not a big deal.

Ok...I like Frost ok. I remember him from Nebraska running the option for the Huskers...My friend was a receiver who caught a couple passes from Frost that year.

Take it from a UC fan - football coaches contracts are meaningless if the "right" P5 team comes calling.

For sure, but there are ~65 P5 teams out there? Reducing the number of teams our coaches would be willing to leave for is the goal, not to make it impossible entirely.

If you can drop that number down to... say, 20? Wouldn't it be better than having your coach bolt for Purdue, Indiana, or Minnesota?

this, plus frost had already turned down a couple P5 dead end jobs before coming to UCF. Hes in it for the long haul, not gonna jump unless its for one of the top tier schools and frankly he hasn't shown hes deserved that kind of job yet.

Extension keeps him here through all 4 years of the next recruiting class. I think we'll see something similar next year as well.

I think developing a profitable, consistent system of hiring successful coaches, turning a profit when they are eventually hired away, and scouting coaching talent that fits the system in place is the key for the AAC to be and remain successful.

Minimizing the chance they can be woo'd away and protecting the university legally will be the cornerstones of that strategy. I'd imagine Houston will probably be the trailblazer in this regard, as they've already shown frustration after losing Briles, Sumlin, and now Herman.

Frost was hired by UCF because of his offensive success with Oregon. How awesome, that you have a friend that played with Frost at Nebraska.
