I'm not whining. Just clenching my guts a lil at the thought of being begged to turn the stile for Tiger BB.

I think that was Pastner's last season.

They are runnning together now. Yea...I couldn't remember when the corner giveaways were.

Yeah, one 19 win season looks about like another.

The flex and mini-plan packages helped lessen the attendance drain under Tubby's first year and I surmise each will return.

I guess 10,500.

I plan to give away my season tickets when I cannot attend. I hope someone will take them.

Sorry, announced attendance.

I think that is the tickets sold number.

Actual attendance was around 9,750

I think that was Pastner's last season.

Was last three home games in an attempt to reach minimum required by agreement with Griz.

Needless to say we likely did not come near the minimum this past year.

Turnstile count was approx 6300 and was above the minimum of 6000 that we struggled to make the season prior. #facts

RE: Predict Basketball Announced Attendance - Your Input
A concern of mine is the possible devaluation of season tickets due to promotions undertaken to boost attendance. An example is the 901 program (not sure if I have the name right) where a buyer is assured of a certain number of lower tier seats at a discounted price - something not included in my season tickets.

It will not deter me from buying season tickets, but honestly it is appealing to me because it is a good value since I live outside Memphis.

Sadly I know of a few huge Tiger fans who've had season tix for years who aren't renewing (not members of this board), stating the price doesn't equal the product on the floor. I myself will continue to renew my season tix, but dropping from six to two. IMO, attendance won't equal last years attendance.

Actual past results, poor future prospects, and graying of our fan base (some loyal fans, unfortunately, are literally dying off) spell a decline at the box office that will be difficult to reverse.

RE: Predict Basketball Announced Attendance - Your Input
The attendance guesses for next season in this thread ranged from 10K to 11K.

A 10K figure represents a 16.9% decline from last year which would make 43rd place for the 2016-17 season.

An 11K figure represents a 8.5% decline from last year which would make for 37th place for the 2016-17 season.

For comparison purposes, UT-K's announced 2016-17 attendance was 14,242 (17th place).

Ignore those wishy-washy facts that he's done it everywhere he's ever been before. Those were fake facts/fake programs.

I think Tubby will win. However, it is going to take multiple seasons to turn this around. And, please recall, the Memphis fan base just ran off a coach who made 4 NCAA tournaments in a row! And, yes, I know Pastner missed post-season his last 2 years, but the rumblings of wanting him gone started after year 5 and getting blasted by UVA in the tournament. 4 NCAA tournament in a row and that wasn't good enough.

Tubby has won 1 NCAA game in the last 10 seasons... 10! We all know Memphis gauges success on the NCAA tournament. So, if it is year 3 or 4 before we go under Tubby and get bounced in round 1... is that good enough? I'd say NO.

If Tubby was honest with himself, he'd admit this has turned out much harder that anticipated and he has brought a lot of that on himself. His staff, as currently instructed, isn't ideal. And, he doesn't have the persona or vigor to create excitement and sell the program.

He needs some recruiting wins right now, BIG TIME. Next season is going to be interesting from 3 aspects:

1. On court results
2. 2018 recruiting
3. fans in (or not in) the stands

That's an incomplete picture of why fans were dissatisfied with even the "good" years under Pastner.

I agree. Think there will be some low key interest in the new players that may attract a segment of fans that hadn't gone to many games. That group will probably replace - to some degree - the fans who stop paying for an inferior product.

I agree, but I think the number of fans interested in the unheralded new players is very small.

Agree. That was a simple summation, more detail:
1. Stubbornness to add a former head coach or X & O guy to the staff (after the departures of Willis Wilson and Jack Murphy)
2. Poor record against the top 25
3. Annually finishing lower than preseason prognostications

But, he did 2 things:
1. Recruited his you know what off (which, at least, annually provided some hope)
2. Actively sold the program and was visible

I am not defending Pastner, it was time to part ways. If Tubby could do these 2 things above, it would make this job and his life SO much easier. But, this isn't him and it never will be. It is what it is and what we have for the foreseeable future.
