Anybody watching the Predators?
I've been enjoying the Predators run in the NHL playoffs. Swept the always great Chicago Blackhawks and are up 2-1 on the St. Louis Blues going into tonight's game in Nashville.

I've never cared much for hockey but after seeing a game in person, starting to pay attention, and learn a little of the game, it's growing on me. Just watch Viktor Arvidsson, smallest guy on the ice and works harder than anyone else. gotta love a guy like that.

It looks like a great atmosphere in the arena! TV doesn't always do it justice but it looks to be loud as hell. Nashville loves their hockey team!

I'll put our barn up against the other 29 in the NHL. Not sure there is a louder one.

RE: Anybody watching the Predators?
There is nothing like NHL playoff hockey. Baseball players will jog out ground balls in the 7th game of the world series, NBA players will try a little harder and NFL players try hard all the time. The physical exertion that NHL players put themselves through in the playoffs is incredible. They skate so hard, hit so hard and block shots. If they tried to play like that in the regular season they would all be dead.

In the first round out of 46 games, 35 were decided by 1 goal or an empty netter in the last 2 minutes and 17 games went to overtime. In the second round, 9 out of the 13 games have been decided by 1 goal or an empty netter and 2 have gone to overtime. Incredible. I am pulling for Nashville because I hated that we traded away Subban. Montreal got eliminated in the first round. Subban lives for the playoffs and big games.

I heard there was a time early on where players had to buy blocks of tickets in order to keep the franchise afloat. Now they sell out every game! This has been very exciting to watch. I never gave the sport much of a chance but I have gotten caught up and in their run through the playoffs. I think other than game 5 in St Louis, Nashville has looked like the better team in every game.

They are looking awesome and are going to be rested and favoured to go to the final. Edmonton and Anaheim are going a full 7 games. The Predators have only played 10 games. Edmonton will be playing their 13th and Anaheim will be playing their 11th.

Whoever comes out of the west is going to be favoured to win it all. I would be happy if any out of Nashville, Edmonton or Ottawa win it all.

RE: Anybody watching the Predators?
Well that was an ugly showing last night! Pekka Rinne was off his game and the defense as a whole seemed to be late getting to the right spots. Good to know we have the home ice advantage but I'm not sure how much that counts in hockey. I think home field/court/ice can be a huge factor in baseball and basketball, football and then hockey probably next in that order.

What does Subban do that earns him such high marks with people?

Yeah, that one was on Rinne. Not too worried, we got 1 and he was due for a let down at some point. Just hope that was it and it's out of the way.

I'm beyond pumped to go tonight. The atmosphere is going to be insane.

News Channel 5 reported last night that it's the hottest sports ticket in Nashville's pro and college sports history.

Does Nashville have a college sports history?

Or really, even that much of a professional sports history?

Titans NFL playoffs in 99,2000,2002 had to have been hot tickets. My daughter has been to every game and says it's become the event to be or be seen at in Nashville.

Reminds me of the Grizz playing in the western conference finals and thinking of what might be. Had they won, Memphis would host games for a national championship in a major sport. Nashville might get that chance.
