RE: McCarty update
What's the status on Robert's? Any idea of the weekend rotation?
IMO, Braley should go Friday(and not bat, let him focus on pitching), Robert's or pitcher de jour Saturday and McCarty Sunday.

Ummm, what?

Berry said on Eagle Hour that he's going to move Braley back to Sunday. Said after throwing Saturday it affected his swing on Sunday.

RE: McCarty update
If the MRI found nothing and he's feeling okay, why are they considering holding him back from his start Friday? Seems fishy.

RE: McCarty update
Maybe "nothing" is relative, as in there's no structural damage, but some other condition (tendinitis, minor strain, etc.) still exists that needs more time to settle down.

Or maybe McCarty got cleared to throw again after the MRI but isn't quite back into the swing of things yet.

Or maybe Berry is full of it, already knows what's going to happen, and is trying to keep FAU guessing because coaches just like doing that kind of thing.

..if he felt tingling and numbness in his hand/arm then something is pinching or compressing on a nerve...most likely in his neck...that's all we know right now............until I speak with Gilbert tonight and see if he knows what exactly is going on.

Could've been what's called a secondary impingement. Instability of the shoulder joint causes the ball part to slide around during the throwing motion, which then can squeeze on a nerve. If there's no labrum or ligament tear, you just need to get the rotator cuff stronger.

Oh! Oh!.....thank the lawd the doctors are online.....Doctors, I need your immediate assistance with a problem one of my "friends" is having.....he is having some real bad pain, I mean real bad..... sometimes severe, during bowel movements. Guys, it can last up to several hours at times...... Per my "friend", it always starts with really bad itching or irritation around the anus. Can the "Board" Doctors prescribe something that will help with fixing my....my friends problem? I'm hoping your degrees in sports medicine can translate over to the anus..... Are you both familiar with the anus? I don't mean to assume but based on you medical journals above I figured you both know everything involved with bowel movements......Thanks in advance for your medical opinions!

Well, I actually do have a degree in sports medicine and over 20 years of experience at it, so I'd say the best treatment for any given ass-related problem would be for you to plant a kiss squarely on it.

..if it's something like that Harb would you think they'd give him a steroid injection to get the swelling down?...then he'd be good to pitch in a few days...that makes sense.

If there's some secondary tendinitis or something going on (because the muscles are getting overworked trying to hold everything together), an injection would certainly help that. It wouldn't fix the root of the problem, but with an MRI not showing any ligament/labrum damage, the doc could decide it's OK to pitch in the meantime as the cuff strength is being addressed. You'd just know going forward that every so often on a given pitch, the numbness/tingling might hit again.

That's all IF that is the problem, of course. If it's a pinched nerve farther up the line like you proposed, that'd be an entirely different ball of wax.
