We won't stop until we are number 3!!!!!

Psst, hey Tulsa fans. Just between us, your schools name is University of Tulsa, so the initials are UT. In the American, TU stands for Tulane University or Temple University.

In the AAC I hate UCF and Cinci

3 of our 4 rivals refuse to play us

Texas
Texas Agriculture & sheep Molesters
Baylor (really hate them now!)
Texas Tumbleweeds (props to them for giving us a chance)

UCF, they have achieved everything we have not (BCS win and a perfect season) and have only been playing football since last Tuesday.

RE: top rivals
For Memphis, Ole Miss, UTK, Arkansas would be local crowd favorite rivalries if they would play us annually - geography still means something in rivalries, IMO. Arkansas didn't even finish the last contract, owing Memphis a game after we beat them 3 times. UTK still owes us a game @ Memphis & won't play us annually. Southern Miss, who we haven't played, other than one game since CUSA, was a long-time rivalry, but no more apparently. Vandy has potential too but for them unwilling to schedule. Those all in FB & BB. Louisville & Cincy are long time BB rivalries. We had a good BB series going with Gonzaga too but couldn't or wouldn't renew it. I would think, if we can regain competency, that WSU will become a BB rivalry, along with Cincy. Have to add, I think Memphis fans will always enjoy beating UConn in BB because UConn has been a very good program but likely won't grow to rivalry status because of geographic distance. Navy & UH have potential for rivalry in FB too.

I wish we were playing a home and home with them instead of Georgia State. The Black and Blue Bowl needs to come back.

1. Ole Miss
2. Cincinnati
3. Houston

4. Louisville
5. Tennessee (would rise if we played them in fb and or bb)
6. Kentucky (cal)

Ole Miss feels like they are a instate rival. Only two hours away, and we play them frequently in multiple sports. Ole Miss has a bunch of ties to Memphis as well. Come across any Tiger fan and just about all of them will say they hate the ye ye rebel black bears... yikes 03-puke

Cincinnati was a dead rivalry that has personally arose from the ashes due to the AAC. Didn't care about them for years after we parted, now it feels like the old days. When there is a Cincy game I hear about it almost just as much as an Ole Miss game.

Houston might be a surprise considering they've been in our conference for so long and no one recognized them as a rival. Recently its has got chippy. In basketball and football we have had some truly amazing games. Ones that could have gone any way. Houston vs Memphis has become a very competitive series regardless if its basketball or football.

flip Houston and Louisville...drop UK, add Arkansas.

1) Mississippi
2) Cincy
3) Louisville
------
4) Houston
5) Tennessee
6) Arkansas
------
7) Southern Miss
8) Arkansas State
9) UAB

Georgia State (Atlanta) and USA (Mobile) are series we set up to recruit those cities...the game I don't get is ULM...no insult to ULM, but we have no history with them and we don't recruit Monroe LA...I'd rather see Memphis play UAB (easy win right now, 'battle for the bones', and chance to recruit B'ham)

My two cents:

NC State
UNC-Carrboro
UCF, if I had to pick a conference team

Marshall becsuse I just can't stand their fanbase, and our Einstein of an AD signed a home-and-home with them.

For selfish reasons, I wish the USM series would come back. Maybe the school chose USA over USM? I really don't know, but it doesn't make sense to play both...overkill. The one that could be replaced w/o skipping a recruiting beat is N. Texas. Not sure why that deal was signed with SMU in the same division.

I think at least for the first year or so the old MVC teams will stoke the rivalry coals a bit for WSU.
