C-USA to add UC Davis
Rumor: C-USA to add UC Davis in all sports
Judy Mac was on hand to give us some details. "Oh the rumor is true. I really like what they have to offer," she said in a interview at a wine tasting. "Their basketball team has been trending in the right direction, and their rowing team is top notch." When reminded that C-USA doesn't sponsor rowing, Judy replied "well that's the kind of climate we are in these days. You can't just add anyone, you have to add someone that will keep up with our brand and image as a conference. Just how everyone associated AAC with P6, I don't think anyone can argue that 'far-flung league' is what you think about when you think about C-USA, and it's my job to make sure we grow based on that." There's no denying that. I asked Judy why UC Davis, especially with such a weak football program, Judy explained "really, I understand football. The Quarterback is the most important position, and without one it will be really tough to succeed, unless of course you run the triple run option like Atlanta Tech." She finished her wine, got up and walked in a circle, sat back down and ordered another. She added "plus, the University of California is a really well known program and it will fit right in with our University of Texas and our University of North Carolina! Big schools!"
I quietly observed as she began to scribble on a large poster board, reminding me of a toddler in Kindergarten. After 20 minutes, she held the sign up to me, proud of her work. "Make C-UAS grate again" it read. She smiled, and after her 5th glass of wine she told me that she is a very responsible adult and handed me the keys to her car so she doesn't drive. The key was a Fischer Price toy made for a Barbie jeep.

Nice add, now bring in Grand Canyon U.
My favorite part:
"She finished her wine, got up and walked in a circle, sat back down and ordered another."

RE: C-USA to add UC Davis
In related news, along with UA-Anchorage, CUSA will add St. George's University and Medical School, Grenada... you know, to help CUSA academics and give the conference international exposure...and capture the 90000 plus population media market... Cusa will contract to be on ESPN Ocho for 5,000,000 pesos ($15000) per team...
Acclaimed by JudyMac as a huge success and victory for CUSA.

What was stupid about adding ODU? We fill our stadiums (led the league in bball attendance). We compete (top 4 of CUSA in football, bball and probably baseball this year). We're investing in our programs (new bball practice facility just finished, football stadium renovations soon). We tick all the boxes.
Explain yourself.

More good news! CUSA is adding The University of American Samoa!! They have a law school and Saul Goodman is a major benefactor. Should also help with travel to Hawaii.
