Smock is a good journalist. Those people are confusing him with another writer from WV.

He may be a good journalist but he wrote his article with misinformation. Now he has tweeted that BEIN contacted him and said they do want to continue with C-USA. I tweeted ASN to see if they might also make a comment on his article. Trusting sources is fine but following up with the players involved before writing that article would have made him a better journalist imho.

I know some don't care about the beIN coverage, but I thought they did a very professional job (they have a lot of sports commentary experience, just not football) and I get the channel on cable, so I value it.

I just emailed the following to several email addresses I found on the beIN site:

"I saw an article recently that said beIN Sports wasn't interested in renewing with C-USA and then a retraction that said beIN had contacted the journalist and corrected him, saying beIN hoped to continue showing C-USA games.

I'm contacting you today to say that I was very glad to get this corrected news! I was very impressed with the production values beIN bought to the table for C-USA last year and, being a Southern Miss fan living 8 hours away from Hattiesburg in middle Tennessee, I greatly appreciate getting to catch not only my own school's games, but also other teams in C-USA. When we are on ESPN we are often treated like background noise while the commentators discuss Power 5 match-ups and ASN doesn't come to nearly beIN's production values. beIN discusses the game currently on, the players currently playing and the upcoming games for those teams/players. I appreciate that beIN treats the game currently on their station as the most important thing their commentators could discuss.

I appreciate all our TV opportunities, but I'd rather watch beIN for my C-USA (and especially Southern Miss) games!"

Agreed. Let us know if you hear from ASN
Probably should be in reply to MinerInWisconcin?

Still nothing from ASN but they have not tweeted anything since March 21st. All the changes they are making may have left the twitter duties up in the air.
