VC has us at 12. So we might get 1 more player.

I see UTRGV as an improving program. I am curious to see how good Adrean Johnson is for the Vaqueros. Terry Winn should also be a big help once he is eligible.

When is Terry Winn eligible? Once he can play, UTRGV has a very good chance to be the next up and coming WAC program like Utah Valley. Lots of young, promising players

Winn becomes eligible by the start of conference play. I'm more curious to see how good Greg Bowie is. He was always on lists and conversations with the top players in Texas. I'm really surprised he didn't get a P5 offer from everything I was reading.
All we really need to do is be a lot better on defense. We were one of the top scoring teams in the conference but we were swiss cheese on defense.

2018 6'5" SF Maka Ellis from Las Vegas has received an offer from New Mexico State. He also has offers from Lehigh, Nevada and Utah State. ESPN has him as a 70 rated 3 star recruit. Here are some highlights. He is a big threat from 3 point range.

Now this is interesting. CSUB has offered 2018 6'5" SG Emmanuel Bandoumel from Canada. The first time Barnes has gone abroad for a player. He also has offers from Bradley, La Salle, Tulane, Richmond and interest from Oklahoma, Wichita State and Cincinnati. From his highlight tape he is a high flying, super athletic slasher with excellent vision as well as a threat from deep.

He is looks to be a good athlete. The video didn't show much of a perimeter game. However, the few shots highlighted in the video, shows he is more of a catch-n-shoot "jump" shooter from the perimeter as opposed to a perimeter "set" shooter which Matt Taylor was at NMSU; and he was a below average one at that.

Another interesting move by CSUB they will be hosting a visit for 2017 6'8" Forward Cartrell Thompson this Saturday. His academy puts him at 6'10". He is from the Los Angeles area and graduated high school last year but played this year for an academy. CSUB doesn't currently have a scholarship to offer. Also I'm assuming playing for this prep academy or whatever it is loses him a year of eligibility? Highlights linked below, he is a athletic big man who loves to dunk.

Chicago State Guard Anthony Eaves will transfer. Averaged 15 minutes per game and 4.3 ppg. Going to be another really rough year for Chicago State.

Ouch. Talk about lost production for Dildy & Co. 4.3ppg doesn't sound like a lot, but the highest returning scorer w/ Sims departure and graduating Owens & Palmer is Delonte Simmons at 5.1ppg. Hope some of the guys they have coming in can make a positive impact right away for Cougars.

If the new guys aren't any good this team will win 1 or 2 games. It looks that bad. I wonder how Josh feels about this.

Got a visit today from a 7'1 C John Crnogorac. Juco transfer, played his freshman year at ole miss. Would be nice to finally have a 7 footer.

Nice. Found some video. Runs the floor well. Nice footwork on defense. Some step out 3s. Crashes the boards. Can play with his back to the basket. Will block some shots. It was all against JUCO kids (which can be worse than HS ball at times), but he at least looked the part.

D-2 talent. He only averaged 2 points per game and 2 rebounds per game this past season.

Sims is testing the waters. He can come back a long as he does not hire an agent. He is currently not in the top 100 of any draft board.

Chicago State signed a good looking point guard out of North Chicago High School last fall, Simeon Henton. Henton led North Chicago to a regional win scoring 25 points. They lost the sectional finals in OT, despite a long three pointer by Henton at the buzzer to send the game into OT. Henton made the all-state team. The point is, there is enough talent in the Chicago area for CSU to win if the state would pass a budget to give the new leadership a chance to clean things up.
