Not really that impressive to be POY at 4A. Schools all have under 1000 students.

He is rated the 16th best player in the state of Texas.

Rivals has him rated number 24. If you are going to chose where to get your rankings, at least be consistent and don't just go with the one that fits your narrative the best.

BTW UTRGV landed the number 28 recruit in Texas and he plays the same position, so it isn't really that impressive if you really think about it.

We already went ever how 4A ball means nothing but you are free to continue being delusional as usual. The kid is going to most likely redshirt anyway.

He definitely isn't the 16th best player in Texas if he hasn't been evaluated by ESPN or Scout. If he was he would've been evaluated by them. Just telling the truth that it's a very underwhelming signing.

New Mexico State just signed a very good high school shooting guard.

1. 2016 Class 4A State Tournament MVP
2. 2017 Class 4A Player of the Year
3. Offers by Houston, Air Force, UTA, and North Texas.
4. 3-Star Recruit by Rivals.com
5. Averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds per game

and reminds Aggie fans of one of the greatest shooting guards to ever come out of New Mexico State.

FYI, Damiyne Durham played for a Texas 1A school.

Well I think Durham isn't really that great. I think he is way cockier than he should be and needs to be put in his place. He struggles in super hostile environments.

Aggie Fans are getting old information about Miles. He was ranked 16th back in 2015 per this site: http://texastop100.com/2015/10/08/class-of-2017/

It is a very good pick up. Look at the schools who got players just above and below Miles, levi, and bowie. Houston, Iowa State, Cincinnati, SMU, SFA, Texas Tech. The talent in Texas is a lot deeper than in just about every state.

U-M-K-C.

Best recruiting class by far. Most height. Most talent. Most athleticism. MVC called an emergency meeting to invite us because they knew UMKC would be too good for WAC or Horizon. Wasn't fair to the other members.

Hahaha much needed levity. For real though how do you feel about next year? Losing a ton and nobody jumps out to me to replace the likes of Boyd.

But can your coach properly operate a team?

Of course I have absolutely no idea who has the best recruiting class in the WAC. None of us will know for 2-3 years. I like that in two years we will have NMSU size, but other than that no idea how it will work out.

Recruiting is a crapshoot. If there not a top 10 5 star recruit, no one knows what will happen. Maybe easier to tell with transfers.

I thought we would have done worse without martez. Coaching is probably more important. Siakam is the best player in the WAC by far since UMKC has joined. He was only a two star I believe.

There is a pattern in the WAC where UMKC has an UP year and then a down year. So were due for a down year and probably finish in the top 3 the following year.

On topic, Chicago State has offered 2018 6'2" PG 3 star recruit Kezo Brown. He also has a lot of offers most notably from Nebraska, Oakland and Depaul. He would be a phenomenal get for CSU if they can get him.

How do you tell which years are "up" and which are "down" for UMKC?

I use place. First year in wac 6th place. 2nd year in wac tied for 2nd. 3rd year in wac 6th place. 4th year in wac 4th place. Notice a pattern bottom half of league then top half of league. NMSU and GCU have significantly easier schedule than most other teams in the WAC something its looks like they are trying to improve so its hard to compare overall records.

UMKC has had trouble winning road games in the WAC, but has nice home court. Travel is a large part of this. This keeps us close to 500 in the WAC. So up is when we win slightly more road games and down is when we pretty much loose all the road games.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but UTRGV signed 7'1" JUCO transfer Johnny Crnogorac. Is originally from the land down under.

Unless he's looking to establish himself as "the guy," then I'm assuming CSU won't get him. It would be nice though to get one, and build from it.

He is the 24th best recruit out of Texas for 2017.

The most high profile ranking system doesn't have him in the top 30. VC doesn't have him as a 3 star. IF he was even the 24th best Texas recruit, which he's not, you would be recruiting on par with UTRVG congrats. 04-cheers

I would trust a Texas ranking site that only concentrates on evaluating Texas kids a lot more than espn who only concentrates on the top 100 players.

Agreed, ESPN is only ranking the Texas players they have scouted. The Rival site is run by someone who only focuses on Texas players.

Marcus Shaver commits to Portland, he was a big Jans target. Another blow for the Aggies.

Seattle U, too. I guess it's on to the next in recruiting for both schools.

I know this is the last day to sign a NLI but that doesn't really matter does it? Players can still sign to a school after this date correct? There really is no deadline for players signing I think.
