Looked at the remaining schedules and the teams in the East (see USA)will have the easier time claiming the SBC regular season title.
UTA has series' at Arkansas State, vs. Coastal Carolina and at Texas State while having a game lead over USA and 2.5 games over Louisiana and Coastal.
USA has series' vs. Little Rock, at App and vs. Troy. They trail UTA by a game and own 1.5 over the other two.
Coastal visits ULM then UTA before hosting App. Louisiana hosts Georgia Southern (the only other team with an even mildly realistic chance at a conference title) and then Texas State before visiting ULM.
UTA has the tougher opponents and fewest home games. USA has two of three remaining series at home and none of the three are over .500 in conference. Coastal and Louisiana each have one series against a team over .500.

RE: Baseball Weekend 4/28 - 4/30
We have some nasty tiebreaks brewing this year:
Coastal and ULL can't break their tie on head to head, so if they end up tied it comes down to what the 2nd tiebreak is with the SBC this year. (SBC has yet to post it) If it goes to record against #1 overall seed, advantage CCU, especially if UTA wins the conference or finishes 2nd. If it goes by Division record, or record against common opponents, who knows.
AState and Troy are tied for the critical 6th seed and the right to go straight into the double elimination portion of the league tournament and avoid a play in game. Those two teams do not play this season, so again a tie would come down to whatever the conference dictates the 2nd tiebreak is, which could go anywhere given that AState still faces UTA, and Troy faces USA.

This team is completely pathetic this weekend 5 errors in the first game of the doubleheader can't play defense at all...complete reversal after a 9 gane winning streak
I'm seeing a lot of stuff I didn't expect: errors, hit by pitches, base-running, even poor coaching decisions.
Credit goes to UTA in some cases, especially on defense, double especially on the left side, but all those mistakes were unexpected, at least by me, for the top team in the SBC coming in.
uta up 9-3 in the 8th. I have to agree. the cajuns are solid and a hard to beat team..they dont look in sync.
Have to say that was our worst played series this year. I enjoyed the park and the wind kept it interesting but I think we made more errors this weekend than we did the last month to month and a half combined.

I always enjoy when Louisiana comes to town. The traveling fan base is usually quite enjoyable. Had a good conversation with fans in the concession line about differences in ballpark and attendance on Friday, for example. Find most Cajun fans to be classy too.
Now Bobcat fans...

RE: Baseball Weekend 4/28 - 4/30
Ties are broken top to bottom.
1. Overall best record is #1.
2. Other division champ is #2
3. Rest of seeds decided by Conference winning percentage.
4. In case of a tie, head to head decides it. If the two teams did not play( or, in the case of LA-CCU, it was a split) , record against #1 seed is the first tiebreaker. Then record against #2 seed, etc. until someone has an advantage.
Remember, ties are broken top to bottom. The tie breakers for the higher seeds must be decided first.
