RE: AAC P6 articles
I know 'P6' is used by some to troll and be generally inflammatory... but it really cannot be denied that while we are way below the P5 in TV revenue, we are really about on par with their bottom in terms of on the field performance. And in some stellar cases on par with their top (UCF and UH wins...).
And we are obviously pretty far above the G5 by many metricies as well... versus the P5, facilities, etc.
It's really just TV$$ that is keeping us down. And perhaps bowls. But lumping us in with the G4 (in many cases, FCS callus) is laughable.
On the field, we are there. TV$$, we are the tweener for now... Good times are coming... just keep swimming.

There's no such thing as a P6, but you'd be lying if you said you didn't want to be in the AAC.
Blasphemy. I say P5* is a fake term. But of course, the P6 is real.

Wichita State could make the AAC a power six conference
emember all that talk about the University of Cincinnati joining the Big 12? Remember how it all amounted to nothing?
In case you missed it, UC made a bid to join the Big 12 six months ago, hoping to enter a power five conference. Ultimately, UC and a slew of other schools in the American Athletic Conference were denied entry into the Big 12.
Cincinnati, Houston and Memphis weren’t outright rejected by the Big 12. Instead, the conference decided that it was in its own best interest not to expand.
The non-move provided a lesson for UC and Bearcat fans: Moving to another athletic conference is by no means guaranteed, even for the most attractive candidates.
For now, it appears that UC will stay put in the AAC, whether they like it or not.
But maybe the Bearcats don’t have to join a power five conference. Maybe — just maybe — the AAC could help build a Power 6.
The recent addition of Wichita State certainly helps increase the level of competition within the conference.
-------
Building the AAC into a more competitive conference may be the most realistic way for UC to play in a power conference.
Why not? Who needs a power five when you can create a power six?

No, not really. I wouldn't mind renewing some rivalries but that can be done in or out of conference. Good luck with your "P6" homer articles. It is just overtly snobbish to label yourself power anything.

"No,not really", see that is the kind of illogical thinking that has your program about to be reassigned in with a group of sunbelt teams. Lol good luck with that

Really? You cool with play at F_U and watching half the ~4000 "fans" leave after the half-time raffle is done? This actually happened the last year ECU was in CUSA3.0
I feel bad for USM, they sucked at the worst time possible and got passed on the realignment carousel. It will spell the end of their football program at the FBS level.

It did suck to suck one year. I wonder would it feels like to suck every year? I feel like you can provide insight in to that.

If P6 is such a non-issue, then why are these non AAC teams posting on this board and C-USA taking about it?

If ESPN was objective about it, we wouldn't have to preach it ourselves. When you are old enough to understand anything about politics and money, you will get that it is our responsibility to achieve on the field, and also to promote ourselves in a competitive environment.

I love being in the P6.
I feel bad for those G4 schools though...They have fans (limited) that care.

Nothing wrong with them dropping to fcs. Helps them compete with similar budgets.

Dont feel bad for them, we cant all be lion tamers. The know their role. We need warm up games and homecoming opponents. They are kinda cute little scrappy fellers like wombats

Just so everyone knows, goldeneagle21 doesn't speak for me, or most any other Southern Miss fans I know. I'd love to see USM in the AAC. Really miss all the great rivalries we have with so many of you. Hope it eventually happens. The AAC is clearly a more interesting conference than our current yawn fest. Hope y'all get a boatload of money during the next set of TV negotiations.

I don't miss ECU going 12-27 against Southern Miss, 4-16 in Greenville.
By comparison, ECU has gone 78-54 against all AAC teams.
I would still like us to play USM again.
