Plus one of the other three teams that qualify for Biloxi, if that team wins the conference tournament.

Without knowing how the selection process works, it wouldn't particularly surprise me if an unexpected winner in Biloxi knocks out a CUSA bubble team. So unless everyone is either firmly in or firmly out before Biloxi, a surprise conference winner probably won't change the number of NCAA-bound teams.

5 would be great. I would even take a loss in the conference tournament to get another team to a regional.

I think USM and ODU are the 2 for sure.

Charlotte, FAU, and LaTech are on the bubble.

FAU has some opportunities to make a big jump with ODU and USM on the schedule remaining.
Charlotte doesn't have many RPI boosters left on the schedule, so they have to just pile on wins.
LaTech is in a similar boat except for their conference record. They just need to climb into the top 5 in the conference standings.

Gotta finish hot and make the semis at the tourney to lock.

RE: How many CUSA teams will make a regional?
23 regionals in a row for Rice (the 4th longest streak in the country), but we're not making it this year unless we win the conference tournament. Although our 2nd regional in 1996 was a similar situation and Rice only made the SWC tournament to begin with since it was the final year of the conference and they decided to open up the conference tournament to all 8 teams in the conference as a parting gift of sorts. So despite finishing last, we won the conference tournament in Lubbock and actually played pretty well at the regional in Wichita (knocking off Fullerton the defending national champs before losing to the host Shockers in the regional final).

So don't count out Rice quite yet. We may have enough pitching if we stay in the winner's bracket. We definitely can't win it out of the loser's bracket as our bullpen has been repeatedly torched once you get past the top 6 or 7 guys.
