They adding 1 more no matter what.
Distressing if true. Don't add somebody just to add somebody. You might need that scholarship. And I doubt there's some mammoth difference maker lurking out there

We only have 1 pg on the roster.
We have had such weird roster construction over the last 3-4 years...

Assuming he wants to play for us, sign him up. He cannot be worse than Tubby's first recruit at Memphis (whom Tubby lauded and now transferred) and Gordon is from the Memphis area.

from the same article.
Quote:Gordon's high school coach, Tori Harris, thinks his point guard would be overjoyed by a Memphis offer.
“Jitaurious would be so proud that Memphis even called him,” Harris began. “He's such a humble kid and that would be like a dream come true. He's just a guy trying to get out of Tunica, MS and would be honored to even get an offer from Memphis.”
Though there is no timetable yet for a visit to Memphis, Harris is ready to make it happen.
“I'll do everything I can to get him up there on campus if they want us there!”

Thanks, I read it. A coach looking out for his player and wanting an offer is not the same as a player wanting the offer. Nevertheless, it is a favorable development.

RE: Trey Dickerson
I think Gordon is already committed to another school. I am unsure if he can get out of it.
http://www.nwccrangers.com/news/2017/3/2...th=mbball. Dated 3/21/17
Quote:HORN LAKE – Longtime Northwest head men's basketball coach Bubba Skelton has announced the signing of Horn Lake point guard Jitaurious Gordon to a national letter of intent to play for the Rangers next season.
"Jitaurious is the type of lead guard that we have been looking for and we believe he can bring scoring and explosiveness to our team," Skelton said. "We're glad to have a guy from Tori Harris and Horn Lake who plays a similar style and motion offense we run at Northwest."
Gordon, who stands at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, averaged a team-best 26.2 points per game this season for the 19-10 Eagles and filled up the stat sheet with 5.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.7 steals a game while shooting 53 percent from the floor.
Gordon scored in double figures in all 29 games this season, including 48 against Olive Branch and 49 against Southaven, and was named MVP of the Larry Ransom Holiday Classic. He torched Lake Cormorant for a career-high 50 points his junior season.
Harris had very high praise for his senior guard, telling the DeSoto Times-Tribune back in February that Gordon "is Mississippi's top point guard, bar none."
"He moves laterally very well and he's strong," Harris said. "He can score the basketball at all different levels, but he's also a very good passer. He's more of a traditional point guard but he's had to score more for us in this situation this year."
Feted by nearly a dozen Division I schools before signing with Northwest, Gordon finished with over 1,000 points for his Horn Lake career.

ESPN does not show Gordon - at all - in their recruit database.

Didn't pass but he wasn't high enough of a priority yet. They still have targets and the position is PG. Couple left. Got to land one though soon

It is true we offered unless his father lied. He is not a recruit now, so he turned us down. http://csnbbs.com/thread-816003.html
I guess another option is that Tubby pulled the offer, but that is a scummy act beneath him and I do not believe it because - despite my misgivings about Tubby - I think he is an honorable person.

You keep believing that. He didn't have a commitable offer. It's not uncommon in basketball and football. We been doing it for years even under Pastner

To help you understand it a little better, Clayton Hughes was a higher priority than Stanley. Hughes wasn't that high of a priority for Memphis.
