As for Tubby, he and his guys are working on a monster class for 2018. Not JUCOs but 4 and 5 star players. Memphis will be back to the big dance soon.

got some names?

They're in the recruiting forum. I'm going to try to consolidate into a thread over there when I get time.

Amen. This thread title is a tad misleading. This had everything to do with Josh, and little to do with the Tigers.

Sorry but I've heard nothing about this recruiting crew (Saul \ Pooh) having the 'inside track' on any of the elite recruits. Not their style

Pastner won 17 regular season games at GTech...that's not good enough for Memphis. we're not going to bow down and worship a coach who takes us on an NIT run.

that said, I'm glad he's happy at GaTech, I hope they keep him for many years and I wish him all the best.

Were you around when Calipari won the NIT championship at Memphis? The city went nuts.

It's all situational. We had experienced some awful years prior to that NIT win (same applies for GT). We were just happy to see SOME type of success (same goes for GT). And the excitement was more about optimism for what was next (I assume that applies for GT, too).

funny, I remember a LOT of Memphis fans being pissed at making the NIT and laughing at Cal for having a parade down Beale St...just like I remember a lot of Memphis fans wanting Cal gone after going 22-16 in 2005.

I guess folks block out the whole "for sale" signs in his yard thing...

Well, now that Cal is gone, he's not here to remind us about it every 15 minutes.

04-cheers good one!

Who you talking to? There is quite a bit of recent evidence you're listening to the wrong people.

We were in our longest dry spell since the Iba years when looked at in long eras. Plus, as someone said, Cal could sell ice water to Eskimos. He MADE the NIT championship into a huge deal with his PROMOTION.

Throwing a scholarship offer at a kid isn't the same as being in on the kid.

ESPN lays off on air personalities by the hundreds and we're the one who's imploding...

True. And what's that got to do with anything? There's a lot of evidence that the staff is recruiting talented guys. What's the evidence they are not?

I would have traded Pal for a box of twinkies. Getting Marc instead was incredible.

Not only did we pick up Marc, who was a second round draft pick, getting rid of Pau saved us close to $20M which allowed us to go out and pick up Z-Bo.

I make that deal 10 times out of 10.

Pau went on to play in three NBA finals, winning the title twice.

Really?

Face in palm....

Pau went to a team with Kobe Bryant, who already had a championship before Gasol got there. If you think Pau is better than Marc and Z-Bo combined, you don't know jack about basketball.
