I think we are a really talented team. We have depth in almost every position. This can be a really good season, barring injuries.

No Shon Mitchell on these lists. They're invalid.

My opinion is that all rankings are too early until Thanksgiving.

One thing I've noticed is that all of the rankings are really high on UR.

New system, guess it's just a wait and see for now.

They can't lump in the second coming of Jesus with mere mortals. It's insulting.

RE: FCS Way Too Early Top 25 Rankings
Nobody knows, except perhaps Jimmye and his staff, whether Mitchell is the real deal, the great successor to the remarkable line of great quarterbacks Laycock has produced over 37 years.

But let's at least, rather than disparaging the enthusiasm he's engendered, enjoy the fact that Laycock and our football program has landed one of the greatest high school qbs ever in Virginia high school football...that Shone picked W&M over a bunch of big time programs...and that he thought enough of his choice to graduate high school early and enroll early here so he could benefit from spring practice.

It's nice, just for once, to have a major prospect come here with, at least the chance, to make a mark here.

Personally I find it's uplifted our program, had a big impact on recruiting, and created an excitement
around the football program that's been missing for a while.

No sense redshirting him due to Graduate Transfer Loophole...right? Russell Wilson style?

No sense redshirting him due to Graduate Transfer Loophole...right? Game and size reminiscent of Russell Wilson?

I get your point.

I also get Rocco's point.

"The remarkable line of great quarterbacks Laycock has produced over 37 years" ended in 2004, and for the most part, the QB play that we have seen since 2004 is a far cry from the QB play that we saw from 1980-2004.

Here's hoping that Mitchell is a successor to Yagiello, Cook, Knight, and Campbell ... it would make Tribe football (fill in the blank) again!

:-)

Let's skip further discussion. I was making a joke exaggerating Mitchell's reputation preceding him here, but clearly hope that he's as good as advertised.
