For the most part. But he had his periods where he had sort of an attitude problem.

Joy riding his ATVs over a man's property which was being prepped for deer camp.

Going 60 mph up 51 in front of a school on his way to practice at MMSP.

Backing out of purchasing MMSP which caused DVD to end up moth balling the facility.

Cancelling an autograph session night before the event was scheduled disappointing fans who drove hours to see him. Even a dying lady who just wanted to meet him and give him a present. Reason he cancelled event was so he could fly out to go to a Kid Rock concert

He was far from perfect in his early career. Changed somewhat after he became a car owner. Also think his little fire incident in a sports car changed him a little.

Do recall that before Sr died they could not give away his souvenirs. Stopped off for fuel on way to track one night. Lady saw car on trailer and gave he a 1/2 inch pile of his Budweiser posters that they were going to throw out because no one wanted them.

I was at the test session at MMP the day he got that speeding ticket by OLS. PLEASE get your facts correct about the speed. A family friend gave him the ticket and even though it was against the rules, he gave me a copy of the ticket as a souvenir. It was a ticket for 45 mph in a 40. I am sure if we fact checked many of your other complaints, they would be incorrect as well. ANY business man knows MMP has been a money pit since OW opened it. Jr must have come to his senses and backed out of the purchase, IF that were ever his intentions.
The man tested for at MMP for several hours and then had a person come to the stands and invited every fan there to the pits for a visit. He sat and talked for over an hour with the fans. Took picture after picture and talked on the cell phone with many people that fans there called while in the pits. I go to his race shop every year during race week in Charlotte. The fans line up out the door and into the cove to see him.

Fella Just give it up. I have a copy of the ticket in my hand. 45 in a 40. 3900 block of Thomas. Driving a Silver 2003 Grand Prix. I have driven all over Memphis and can count on 1 finger the streets that have a 25 MPH sign posted on them. Thomas isn't one of them. It was actually further out than OLS and there is no school there. Divided highway near Diesel Care and DTS Wrecker. Look on Google Maps. I am surprised the limit isn't 45 or more that far out.

You were wrong about the speed he was driving. Wrong about the school zone and wrong about the posted speed limit.

Most likely you were wrong about your other complaints but I have no idea for sure. If you will send me your email address, I can scan and email you the ticket. I am sure you will have another wrong answer even when the proof is right in front of you.

Yea buddy. Especially when some guy that doesn't have a clue to what he is talking about starts posting crazy things. Not sure what his agenda is but posting facts sure isn't one of them.

I haven't been on this board in 6 or 7 years. Got in trouble right after I posted about Lorenzen Wright having money problems, getting foreclosed on and running with the wrong crowd. A year or so later, look what happened. Now this fella seems to have issues with facts about Jr.

I can guarantee you that during my career i have driven on streets in this area you have no idea exist, much less have driven on.

That is not counting the fact that on a couple occasions i have lived in Frayser and during the period of time in discussion i made daily trips from Desoto County to Northaven.

Mid way between Frayser and Wathins on the right hand side of Thomas right before you reach the top of the hill is Our Lady of Sorrow School. It sets so far off the road that unless you live in the area or are looking for it you would never know it is there. The sped limit in front of the school is 25 mph.

So i would say it is you who does not know what he is talking about.

The ticket CLEARLY states the ticket was issued at the 3900 block of Thomas. OLS is at the 3700 block of Thomas. So far off the road you don't know it's there? Only if you are blind. I played baseball and basketball at OLS many times, Sounds like you just can't accept facts. The violation was 45 in a 40 and was in the vicinity of DTS Wrecker, nearly 2 miles north of OLS and close to Watkins

Dude, just give it up. You don't know what you are talking about and are clearly wrong. I have the proof in my hand and you have, well, something else in your hand. Just hope you don't go blind as a result like your mom warned you would. LOL

Absolutely. Those 26 checkered flags he won were all handed to him because of his dad.

Technically yes. Almost all of his wins came while at DEI, his Dad's race team. Moved on to Hendricks and never did return to same level as with DEI.

So you are saying because his dad was his car owner, he was given 20 checkered flags? His 4 straight wins at Dega were only because of Sr? His winning of the All Star race, the ONLY rookie to win it was a gift? His win at Daytona after his dad died was a gift as well? WOW. Dale Sr was quite a man. He got 42 other drivers and millions of dollars of sponsors to give Jr all those wins.

Steve Parks and Mikey all had the same equipment, yet Jr had all those wins. I guess Sr. gave Jr. that special set of matched tires.

Are you referring to the Busch race he won the next year in the Oreo 3 car to honor his father? First live nascar race I ever attended.

No. The 4th of July Daytona Pepsi race following his dad's death that Feb. Had the baseball helmet. Mikey finished 2nd. Jr and Mikey partied in the infield after the win.

Make up your mind first you claim the school was not there and there was no school zone. Now you saying you played ball there. In your PM you claim the ticket was 2 miles north of the school. Yet it is barely over 1.5 miles from Thomas and Frayser and Thomas and Watkins.

So a school which is almost half way between Frayser and Watkins on Thomas is two miles away from the place he was stopped SOUTH of Watkins. When there is less than 2 miles between Frayser and Watkins on Thomas.

Forget the ticket and what it said. Unless you are racing, reckless or under the influence they always write the ticket for 5 mph over a posted limit. That way the speeding ticket gets paid without going to court and the violation is not reported to Nashville and does not go against your points.

Maybe you ought to read the CA article about how many people got in trouble over the ticket and it being dismissed.

This fella doesn't know what he is talking about. He sent me a PM telling me about a school that he CLAIMS is at Frayser and Thomas. The school is TWO miles north of there according to google maps. I played ball there many times when I was in grade school. The ticket in question was written 1.9 miles NORTH of the school he said Jr was speeding by. The ticket said 3900 block of Thomas, which is right at Watkins. The school is at 3700 block of Thomas. This man is either drinking, confused or just won't accept facts. Not sure what his issues are but they seem pretty bizarre.

LOL You say less than 2 miles from Frayser to Watkins on 51. Google maps said 3.6 miles. Are you EVER right about anything? Proving you wrong is so easy even a caveman can do it. At least make it a little more challenging.

(04-29-2017 07:20 PM)karter25 Wrote:  Fella Just give it up.

Drops the mic!!!!!

That might be the case bucko if anything you said were correct. UNFORTUNATELY, that is NOT where the ticket was issued. It seems facts scare you.

LOL

Damn dude are you so stupid you make claims that can be verified as false by anyone?

3330 Thoimas Which is Thomas @ Frayser to 4020 Thomas which is Thomas @ Watkins is 1.6 miles according to Google maps

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/35.21677...m2!4m1!3e0

3 minutes without traffic. How stupid must someone be to argue with a map.

Only a damn fool would go from Thomas and Frayser down Fraysee to Watkins and them up Watkins to Thomas again. And that is EXACTLY what you did to get your 3.2 miles. To get to 3.6 you have to place the marker on a spot on Thomas which makes you do a loop around Millliington rd and back to Thomas.

RE: Dale Jr retiring
It's probably a good idea for Junior to retire. No way can I watch people drive around in circles. However, the last time I was sitting long enough watch some, #3 ran into a wall. Its good that Jr. can retire and live to do other things.

Drop by the Ditch Wednesday night. I can guarantee you will not be bored watching people going around a circle.

20-22 cars each weighing 1300# with over 800HP each. Going around a very tight 1/4 mile oval for 30 laps, each lap lasting a little over 11 seconds. You will not have time to be bored.

Say what you want but I have never taken a 1st timer to Riverside and have them not enjoy themselves. Even to a novice fan the thrill, the chills, the spills are there for anyone to enjoy. If you never go you can't say you wouldn't enjoy it.
