For those who were beotching about what you claim were mediocre teams the last 2 Pastner years will get a clearer idea of exactly what a mediocre team looks like.

Then why do you suffer through this?

Because without us, there would be no fire under Tubby's butt--as you mentioned earlier.

"I really like the way the staff is recruiting now. Someone lit a fire under Tubbys ass and he's working hard. I really think we'll have a strong 2018 class."

I doubt it was all y'all folks who keep saying how great he is who lit the fire.

You're welcome.

Well I guess it is possible that the message board lit the fire 03-wink

But the likely answer is the butts in the seats and the media.

I'd go with NWO. Similar time frame I guess, but different company.

RE: New Recruit
Parks is a big big guy, some good touch around the basket, can clear space, and will be a serviceable big off the bench in the AAC. I watched him play about 10+ games in West Plains and spoke to him personally several times at our gym. He should be very motivated coming from the juco ranks, and most importantly he's not a knucklehead. He's not a star, but not every piece to the puzzle has to be. . .he'll know his role and could be a James Harris-type.

Actually I think Tubby didn't come here to kick his feet up. He wants to end his career on a high note, not being run out of town after three years. I think he is his own motivation. I do know that this board had zero to do with him and staff working hard to get players. That to me is a joke.

I agree. I think he feels like he's got something to prove now. I think the 2018 class will be outstanding.

Agreed. I don't get the whole "they just started working now" line of thought, anyway. Didn't we beat out some Power Five teams in the Fall to sign Johnson, Enoh, and Nickleberry? Pretty sure the staff was working hard then, and throughout the season based on the improved play of the Lawsons, Markel, Martin, etc., at least until the meltdown.

I've said it before, is Smith just wanted to kick back and coast into retirement, he would have either just retired or stayed in Lubbock. They offered him a raise and a contract extension. And a lot less pressure.

Ok. Let's get the facts straight.

Freshman Year: 8.3ppg and 4.3 rpg at Juco and didn't start a game. [1]

Sophomore Year: 8.9ppg and 4.0 rpg at JUCO, while only averaging 19.4 min per game. Started every game. [2]

Please stop talking smack about a kid. He's going to contribute on this team next year. He might not start but he's going to prove depth if we run like Tubby claims.

He had an offer from NM, and this late in the year it's good to pick up any big. We could of used a guy like him last year. If fact, we missed on Ngor Barnaba who started over him his freshman year at Missouri State-West Plains.

I know he's going to average 4 and 2, in 14 minutes next year. But that's going to help.
