Not at the Liberty Bowl. It's on the south campus about a mile or so from the main campus.

Park Avenue Campus is property acquired from the Federal Government in the early 70's when the VA decided to leave the Veterans Hospital property established during WW2 in favor of a new VA hospital in the Medical Center area. its about 1.5 miles from the main campus

football, track and baseball moved there from campus in the mid 70's along with graduate student housing and graduate research labs. TVA ran a nuclear reactor operator training facility there for a decade or so. over time the original buildings being used for storage have been removed and new academic buildings moved in, the newest being the Community Heath Building for the School of Nursing

[Image: UoM-Community-Health-Building1-e1448396200477.jpg]

the $40 MM Rise To Shine campaign has been to renovate the track & field, add a fieldhouse for the softball stadium, build a new practice facility for basketball which is currently under construction and the IPF

Actually apples & oranges. The Memphis facility is an integrated indoor practice facility. UCF facility is just an enclosed field (Memphis has had such an indoor 50 yd field since mid-70s) & it doesn't house FB offices, have eating facilities, weight rooms or other recruiting & meeting rooms as part of an integrated IPF. Houston's facilites are just now in construction. Temple constructed new IPF in 2013 but it is partial field shared with field hockey, lacrosse, baseball, & soccer. Cincy has a multi-use turf field/locker rooms with a bubble shared with all athletic needs including men & womens competition events, USF doesn't have indoor practice facilities, Tulsa has plans for an IPF, Tulane uses the Saints indoor facility when available & needed, ECU doesn't have indoor practice facilities, Navy football has access to a multipurpose indoor facility shared with other Navy athletics, SMU has announced plans for an IPF, UConn has a 1st class integrated IPF. The Memphis facility, like the UConn facility will be a football indoor practice facility with adjacent outdoor practice fields, coaches offices, permanent football locker rooms, football eating facility, weight rooms, meeting rooms & recruiting areas.

So I think you have not done your homework because most of the schools in the AAC do NOT have such facilities.

No reason to get one. We play in the Grizzlies home at FedExForum. Sweetheart deal. One of best BB arenas in the country.

Only about 7 miles from campus. Lots of parking, plenty of places to eat and drink on Beale Street. Great place to party before and after games.

What's not to love?

That's just stupid, everyone in the AAC wants to see everybody get better, we have our Own conference and by the way you got lucky last year, so count your lucky stars, it will never happen again

I guess you didn't get lucky the year before.

Correct, it's was always in the script to make for better TV...

2 years ago, pizzed off and sad. Last year, OMG what just happened, happy. Love the series, always look forward to the games, hard fought, made for TV, good for the conference. GO TIGERS!
Agreed. We have a good rivalry with the Tigers in Football. Your program has improved and I look forward to our yearly matchups. It is great for the teams and great for the conference.

Congrats on your new IPF. This is exactly what everyone in this conference needs to do. We have to keep building to keep up with the P5. Ours is coming along great also. Should be finished no later than Oct.

First off, congrats. Our Wayne Densch center with weight room, football offices, trainers, etc is literally next door. The new facilities will be built between those two buildings and connect everything. The new building will include even more facilities. We have the SAL building as part of the stadium and are converting the recruiting lounge currently attached to the stadium as a training table/food area for athletes. As a reminder the stadium is 100 feet or so from the indoor facility. It's just as integrated.

It's about time. Every coach since Rip Scherer was promised a new IPF. In 2011, they started a campaign to raise money for it. Even though they had all the funding they needed to start the project, mysteriously groundbreaking won't start until now.

Not intended as a downer on UCF who is way ahead of most AAC schools in facilities. More a response to the idea that "Most of the schools in this conference already have these facility upgrades. In UCF's case, nearly a decade already.", which is far from reality.

Everything but the training table we have had for a decade. We did it in cusa. Doesn't matter though as hopefully helps keep us moving on a trajectory to separate ourselves as a conference.

Up until this year, we were under the rule of the Tennessee Board Of regents who for what ever reason didn't (wouldn't) give the ok to start construction. Now that we have our own board, and no longer are part of the TBOR (Thank God), we can now (finally) start construction on the new IPF, as approved by our own board.

Deed was done & dirt was turned. one interesting factoid that makes the $40 million campaign unique is that zero university dollars were involved - it was 100% private money
