Louisville Scandal Approaching Resolution?
http://www.cardchronicle.com/2017/4/20/1...aa-hearing

Postel, Jurich and Pitino all met with the NCAA infractions committee today in Cincinnati. Jurich said that a resolution could come in 6-8 weeks.

Will be interesting to see what, if any, penalties are levied against the program.

Oh, there will be penalties. One IMO will be Pitino suspended for the first few ACC games. Who knows after that. Ready for this to finally end

Well ... there have already BEEN penalties .... at least the following has already been levied:

-- 2 schollies forfeited
-- A post season ban (for a team that finished 4th place in the ACC and 16th in the country)
-- Severe recruiting restrictions on coaching staff, including travel, on campus visits, and contacts, during the summer AAU and all star circuit last season.

I think there will be a ban on Coach Pitino from the team for some period next season. Not sure how long, or when it will be put in play (during conference season, or before). We should know sometime this summer it sounds like.

RE: Louisville Scandal Approaching Resolution?
Unless the NCAA thinks this is a lot more serious than the issues at Syracuse and SMU, it seems likely Pitino would get the same suspension that Boeheim and Brown had to serve.

Larry got to sit out 9 pre-season games.

A friend said that they were thinking Rick would have to sit 4-5 games. Now he doesn't know jack about Louisville but he historically buddies up with every new coach at AState and the newest is a former UL assistant so who knows?

Pre-conference games, yes. IIRC, Boeheim also sat out 9 games but for some reason it wasn't the first 9 games of the season.

RE: Louisville Scandal Approaching Resolution?
Yeah the coaches tend to pick the stretch of games to miss. They will coach the pre-season tournaments and then miss games they don't care about. Randy Bennett of St. Mary's did that, picked 5 game stretch he felt his assistants could win on pure team talent. It's all about the timing of an appeal and such, but everyone knows the game.

5 games would match Bennett's. But I think 9 is more likely, this is worse than SMC, in the same category of SMU and Syracuse.
