Wonder if Little Rock would consider taking Murray State's spot in the OVC?

If Texas State and Arkansas State are no votes to a potential swap because UTA and LR will be left in the cold of a new SBC conference that stretches from West VA. to Miami, then they would be inviting the destruction of the SBC by a massive CUSA raid. They will make sure that SBC football will not be able to regenerate.

Bottom line, UTA and LR need to find the nicest home they can now because 1 way or another they will be left in a position where they have to find a new home.

If I were them, I'm calling the MVC people asap.

Look, no one is protecting UALR. It's just that right now it would make no sense to try and force them out. They offer an easy to get to travel partner for us.

Now, if an event happens that provides AState with an opportunity to further our own program, and that means leaving UALR in the cold, we'll do it and not worry about what happens to them. (Though there will be some grumbling within the state) But we're not to that point yet, and there's no real source indicating we'll get there.

What happens? UALR probably says no.

Let's see....
MVC has an ESPN contract that gets more publicity than the Sun Belt along with more TV payout than what they get from the SB.
Also, the MVC gets more NCAA tournament $$ than the SB.

The MVC also gets higher conference RPI, seeding and even multiple bids more easier than the SB.

That's all a wash now. The MVC was only one spot ahead of the Sun Belt in conference RPI. Without Wichita State, that RPI drops hard.

No reason to start a new thread about this, but the MVC picked up Valpo today.

Pretty close to exactly how I thought that was going to go. UTA had zero interest.

Given the noise coming out of Springfield MO, I would expect Little Rock to still be on the table if the MVC goes to 12:

Little Rock/Missouri State
Drake/Northern Iowa
Loyola Chicago/Bradley
Illinois State/Southern Illinois
Valparaiso/Indiana State
Evansville/Murray State

Doubt its Little Rock. But here are your travel partners.

Drake/Northern Iowa
Loyola/Valparaiso
Bradley/Illinois State
Evansville/Indiana State
Murray State/Southern Illinois
