WSU hires Donnie Jones
Looks like WSU is hiring Donnie Jones as associate head coach. He spent 6 years at UCF as head coach and 3 years at Marshall. What can we expect from Donnie, UCF fans? Looks like he has strong ties in the south.

He will be a good catch. He was an assistant under Donovan during the rise of the Gators. RECRUITER. He knows talent when he sees it. He brought Whiteside to Marshall and Fall to UCF. He'll have a lot more to sell at Wichita State.

Here's an article about Jones contacts. Personally, I like the hire. http://www.orlandosportsdaily.com/2015/1...n-the-nba/

He is a very good recruiter and one of the worst tactical basketball coaches I have ever seen in the sport on any level.

Good recruiter? Has knowledge of new conference teams? Had previous significant success as assistant coach?

Sounds like a good hire as an assistant. Time will tell.

He was a top recruiter at UF for years...and did a good job recruiting at Marshall and also at UCF (till program went on probation).

He has recruiting connections all over FL and the East Coast so now that Wichita State is in a "national" conference with teams up/down the East Coast...smart hire, very smart.

Good hire. Not a good coach but a great assistant and recruiter. Willing to cheat although he didn't do it very well at UCF I assume he did it really well at UF.

Great recruiter and the players love him. Didn't work out at ucf but i'm sure he will make a good assistant.

It'll be good to have someone with experience coaching against ECU's Lebo.

Lot of new teams to scout this year. Every little bit helps!

WSU will be scouting 11 new conference teams. 11 AAC teams will be scouting 1 new conference team.

WSU will also have 7 scholarship seniors next season, so those schollies need filled. Lots of work to be done at WSU in the next 10 months.

He was the king of getting great players to commit but never made it onto campus.

It wasn't just basketball. UCF football got sanctioned for its association with Kenneth Caldwell. He seemed to be an overzealous guy that tried to get in with both programs.
Jones had plenty of players that made it to campus. Last years NIT Final Four run was possible because of guys like Williams, Taylor, and Fall. He'd probably still be in Orlando if BJ Taylor didn't get hurt last year.

We indirectly had a runner. Rick turned us in. Funny he is the one buying whores with zero penalty.
