That just sounds crazy for the results, that a pro team with all of its revenue, pays less for a coach than the home team university.
Boosters pay all of Tubby's salary outside of the roughly 150k the university pays him.
Not sure what your point is. Fact remains that the local university coach is getting paid more than the local pro team coach and is doing far, far, far, far, far less.

True. But they still expect our dollars to pay for tickets and donations.

In the pros, the money goes to the players.
Looking for any angle.

Good thing Tubby didn't have Conley, Gasol, and Randolph on his team. One that has made the playoffs for the past seven seasons.

Fizz came into this gig with no NBA head coaching experience. He was an assistant @ Miami prior to getting the job here. Why should a first time head coach make more than an experienced coach when he's practically receiving on the job training? I really like Fizz and what he's doing for the Grizzlies.

Fizz might bring some of that Miami Heat toughness that they had, putting that toughness into the last two games. Believe it or not, and no one is talking about it, but I've seen some Pat Riley coaching style in the last three playoff games. If you go back to the championship runs that Miami had, look at the drawing up of plays of how the used Wade and see a similarity to how they have used Conley in similar situations.

Riley had Wade in his prime and Shaq...
There was no magical coaching going on there.

I use to SMH and chuckle when the sports media touted the "mystic" virtues of Phil Jackson's Triangle Offense like it was primarily responsible for the NBA championships and not Jordan, Pippin, Shaq, and Kobe.

Pretty good recruiting tool.
Recruits should absolutely love EVERYTHING about the potential and energy that surrounds the GRIZZ!!!!
Especially since the Tigers play in the same building.
Hopefully Tubby and Pooh can get him down there early and introduce him to some of the guys.
Exactly. This is good news. If we can get him out of UNLV without a commit...he's already "not committed" after the Arkinsaw visit. I read an interview that said he would be committing soon - and he could possibly pull the trigger on the spot of a good visit.

We see how well the vaunted triangle offense is working in New York
