USF signs new multi media rights
At least 2.9 million per year for 10 years. Could be more if it does well.
Jeff Vinick is the owner of the Lightning and the big mover in downtown Tampa. He was the one that facilitated our medical school's move downtown and is the force in renovating the area and moving MOSI downtown that would free area for possible football stadium. Good person to have working with you.

Vinick is a beast and loves this area. Him getting involved in usf will only help.

2.9M+ per year is a decent chunk of change to bring in.

The money is ok. I'm more excited on who the university has partnered with.

Does this impact the upcoming AAC contract negotiations in any way? I know that some conferences gave up multimedia rights (to ESPN?) for more money, at least I think that's how that works. Obviously the AAC has not given up multimedia rights but I don't know if that might change in the future.

dont believe that this deal would affect the TV contract with ESPN in fact the interesting part about it is that when you look at the P5 schools their TV contracts are more than double what they get in Media Deals. In our case is the opposite which shows how undervalued our TV contacts really are.
