The AAC should really explore Wichita as a venue for the conference tournament at some point.

Memphis has the South Regional again that same year.

Congrats Wichita and Memphis. Tulsa got 1st and 2nd round games again for 2019 today.

Cincy has 1st and 2nd round in 2022.

I know the Shockers don't begin play until next basketball season but can Wichita State attend AAC meetings now??

MVC (lol) and WSU are hosting in Wichita in 2018 as well.

AAC well represented in the last few years and a lot more in the upcoming years.

they seem to really like picking Memphis for regionals...

lol idk why they want the XL center as a tourney arena it really doesn't offer much there are better arenas in the northeast lol

Actually, all of those bids were sponsored by cities/economic development groups would be more accurate as there is always a ",host" school for "every" NCAA run event. (I.e. UCF is the Host school for 2 upcoming national championship Rowing Championships in SARASOTA, FL.)

All of the above email NCAA Regionals are being held at City or Privately owned arena. (,I.e. None are being held at campus sites, not even Cincinnati as that Regional will be held in the soon to be 50 year old USBank Arena and not Cinci's upcoming and beautiful on-camous facility).

Schools don't have to put up any $$ to tag along on these bids but they are required to fill certain staff positions in exchange for some signage and a few operating $$.

Great arena right off Beale Street with things to do on off days. Plus the city gets into it as we really are a basketball town in the middle of football country.

I think a lot of the reason we (AAC) get these events is the accomodations inside our cities. We have larger airports, hotels, eateries than others and of course larger arena's that are publicly owned and not tied up. IMO we'll keep seeing this occur. The selectors also probably like the centrally located schools we have in the western AAC which allows shorter trips for most fans. It allows the selectors to put a western located team with an eastern located team in the same regional without a difficult trip for the fans.
