As a tenured teacher and coach, He will likely make about $75,000 per year a HS teacher and coach locally. A darn good living for here in Memphis. Couple that with a similar salary for his wife and you get a very nice living.

Per the Shelby Unified School District website: A tenured teacher with ten years experience and a Bachelor's degree makes a base of $45,647 and a coaching supplement of $4,360 for a total of $50,007. Same employee with a Doctorate would make a base of $59,559.61.

Keelon taught and coached at Hamilton from 2003-2013 so one would assume he would "grandfather in" at his last pay-grade. What perplexes me is how he coached at Hamilton from '03-'10 without a degree. His Memphis bio page says he didn't graduate from Union University until 2010.

Interesting.

It will prove that the Tigers and Orlando pushed out a proven winner so Orlando could hire his son. A man who has never held a job in coaching outside his dad's staff.

Maybe you can get Saul's coaching career correct after reading his bio........http://www.gophersports.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/smith_saul00.html

You've got him. Saul did have another job, for one of Tubby's former players, who had a head-coaching gig at Tennessee Tech. Saul was there for 3 years and he's been with his Pop for about 11. #DATA

So...anything to downplay Saul.

The coaching profession is a lot about connections. Saul did coach under another staff, not just his dad. So yes racecar guy lied.

He F'd up his gig at Memphis and could have had a very nice living for many years to come. Keelon got too BIG for his britches

We don't know his motivations...BUT it could have been a principled stance where he felt nepotism cost him his job not being displaced by a better choice.

Sure

Think he may have been confused on social security, and the state pension. Probably has his 25 years in.
