How late night comedians fueled Trump's rise
It's an interesting read given the biased POV. I think this played out in a larger scope than just the late night comedy shows but with celebrity interviews during the day and evening shows as well as other news talk shows on MSNBC and CNN that eviscerated supporters of Trump. That was the fatal mistake IMHO. Attack the man all you want and take him down on an issue by issue basis. However, attacking the potential voters and calling them dumb, stupid, idiots, bigots, uneducated, uncultured, etc. etc was a terrible mistake.

Trying to shame someone to accept your POV rarely works if ever. Rational discourse does. That's sorely lacking from both sides at the moment.

RE: How late night comedians fueled Trump's rise
Seems torn between talking about Trump's clown car of supporters and mildly chastising others for using terms like clown car of supporters.

Between slamming comedians for treating Trump normally and slamming them for smarmy self-indulgent arrogance while not treating him normally.

People should really convince themselves first before trying to write articles to convince others.

Yes, I found that amusing.

You have to consider the source. I think the author believes what the comedians were stating about Trump supporters. However, pounding those points home repeatedly over the last 18 months was the killer. I think the takeaway from the author's POV is that they went to the well too many times vs going to the well at all. What I find interesting is that it was also happening in other shows beyond just late night comedy, yet that was ignored.

Yeah. He made the point, but didn't really comprehend it.

He also made the point that Trump was tailor made for comedy. Yet these comedians are pathetic. Hatred and contempt just isn't funny. Anybody with an ounce of talent could make funny Trump jokes that appeal to more than just the left.
