Not sure if this was already posted but nice to see us in the Top 50 (#50) with this being such a critical recruiting year

If you look at Average rank per recruit we are WAY lower than everyone else in the top 50. We just signed 6 kids.

By average recruit rank we are 9th in the AAC

Great analysis! Are you averaging two Jucos (not rated) as zeros? Brilliant!

This again??

I have said this in numerous threads. They default all unranked players to 70. The JUCOs will probably eventually get ranked by 247. They typically rank the JUCO All Americans, and they are your average three star players around 85.

We have a decent class compared to the rest of the AAC because we landed JJ whose probably the 2nd highest rated player in this AAC class.

Houston and Memphis do not have the worst classes in the AAC. Please stop spreading this FUD.

It has come to this:

pounding our chests because a class (in basketball) is #50.

We are number one for total score but next to last for average. The number one ranking does not indicate strength, but rather highlights the extraordinary replacement quantity needed to fill the transfer vacancies.

We have lots of players of poor quality (relative to the AAC).

Good points about the NR scoring. Plugging in .85 rather than .70 raises our average to .8694 or 5th place by average. My guess is a .85 rating is conservative.

Agree. I think mediocre is more accurate, but I need more time to dig into it.

And none of that garbage means anything...lets see how the team responds to playing together, adapts to the system and embraces the staff.

The way to get a guess on how 247 would rate them is compare their rating to other players who are already rated.

http://247sports.com/Season/2017-Basketb...iorCollege

http://www.jucorecruiting.com/2017jucotop100

For example, Andre Pierce a commit to TCU is rated 89 on 247, and is the #55 on JUCO report, which is a very high borderline 4* rating on 247. Kyvon Davenport is #19 on JUCO report, and only rated an 85.

So, I think 85 is fine for a JUCO All America.

So we are happy that we are top 50 by this site, however, this site's rankings are flawed. Did I get that right?
