You seem to live in the east. If you live in Texas or the southwest you would understand. If you think 2008 was bad, wait until you see the recession from deporting 12 million people. The economies in the southwest would tank.

There is no long term gain from devastating the biggest job creating states in the country (Texas and Arizona).

You would also shut down meatpacking in Iowa, farming in South Georgia and lots of other places in the country.

It would be devastating to legal American citizens. It is the most idiotic thing Trump said and he said some idiotic things. And Trump got attention, but didn't get a lot of support from that. Most of his supporters didn't even want to throw all 12 million out.

Hiring illegals is not illegal. You simply fill out the I-9. Illegals do have a pretty easy time obtaining fake documents to give you for the I-9. Most of them are employed that way or in day labor where they don't need documents.
