I think we should stipulate that if we continue 1-1, games away be played at PBS and the profits are split based on tickets sold.

I'd guess if Miami was willing to go on the road every year they would just take the larger payout for a P5 beating.

For years Miami had issues with average home attendance numbers. There was a NCAA minimum target number - I know the UC game was the big draw to boost the numbers every other year. Is this still an issue?

Bolded, you raise an interesting point in that regard. The NCAA has danced around a minimum attendance target for decades but I'm not sure they've ever really put the hammer down on a school based on that. If they had, much of the MAC would have been under water. I think the P5 oligopoly sees great utility in the MAC. Michigan hosting Kent State or Ohio, even with a sizable guarantee for the visitors, assures U of M their usual full house, a win toward bowl eligibility and no need for a return game. In that scenario, why would Michigan (or any B10 school for that matter) risk playing a quality P5 opponent?

That makes sense so I doubt it will happen.

If Miami had fans and the Brown's and the City were promoters it would be every year downtown at Octoberfest or Thanksgiving Friday. For a long time played at UC at Thanksgiving.
Octoberfest would make sense - before conference game in a festival environment. Maybe make it a night game.

From a city standpoint, it's a great idea. But just as Miami wouldn't do a 1:1 with their home game being at PBS, UC probably wouldn't do an annual neutral site game with Miami at PBS. The need to sell those premium seats at Nippert is just too great. Miami doesn't have as many premium seats, but it's tough getting fans (even from the opposing team) to Oxford so they'd probably decline as well. Why pay rent to a 3rd party every year for an event that either team could handle at its own venue? The only way it might start to make sense is if was a lock to attract close to 70K (PBS capacity) in attendance each year and we're pretty far away from that right now.

It will be interesting to see what they do with this series as it comes up for renewal here soon .

That's the exact reason per my source @ UC.
