He only has 1 year of D-1 coaching experience went 21-12 and got Bowling green to the CIT. He was a great Juco HC won something like 78% of this games as the HC.

Not sure how others feel and I know the timing of Weir leaving screwed NMSU over in getting someone better I think but I don't think the rest of the WAC will look at a Jans ran team right the bat and worry. NMSU is still a talented team but at least with Weir the program didnt really change to the worse it was looking as it they were one there way to raise their profile a little bit. With Jans will Mom's want their sons to play for a guy who treated women the way he did in a bar?
I was waiting for self righteous GCU posters. Have you checked on your man hoar Dan Majerles past? Ask his ex wife about his escapades. Maybe you GCU Christian Jesus freaks should learn a little bit from him about forgiveness. You sound like the Jews that were critical of Christ for running around with sinners.

Take it down a notch, Dancing. Who is being self-righteous? Nobody has said anything that hasn't/isn't already being discussed elsewhere. Not even all Aggie fans are on board with this guy yet. If the butt slap heard round college basketball wasn't a PR nightmare, Jans wouldn't be your head coach right now. At a minimum, he'd still be at BG, if not moved on and up the coaching ranks.

Who knows... Maybe he'd be UNM's HC right now.

The reality is these are questions/concerns he is going to be addressing for a while. If they weren't, why would he bring them up himself in the press conference? The only person who has forgiving to do is the woman who's butt he slapped. Everyone else is just waiting to see if he does it again.

"If" Chris Jans can keep most of this roster intact, I think a year from now most of you non-Aggie fans will be sending out praising about how good a coach NMSU hired. You might throw in dig or two about his personal life but you'll all know you've been had; until he finally leaves NMSU for a higher paying job.

Honestly I am scared of NMSU domination now. I was hoping for Bopp thinking Barnes could outcoach him like he did to Weir but I think Jans is almost his equal.

Coaching wise, the WAC just got a lot strong with the additions of Hayford and Jans.

Weir was a good coach but his real strengths were recruiting and the use newer more innovative coaching philosophies. However, he still had a lot to learn as a X&Os coach. Jans is a master tactician.

And, I suspect Hayford is a much better clipboard coach than Dollar as well.

I'm also still looking forward to what Lew Hill can do at UTRGV with a full roster of "his" guys & his program fully in place.

The WAC is shaping up well. Also the coach at Cal Baptist (Rick Croy) is a very good young coach. Once he elevates his talent level, the Lancers will be a tough team to beat.

The WAC has now risen from the ashes. Hopefully there is nothing to upset the apple cart in the near future.

Hill has quietly grown UTRGV into the WACs darkhorse of the future. Lots of potential there, this coming year will be telling

Chris Jans is the best thing to happen to New Mexico State since Lou Henson. #GoAggies

It doesn't violate the rules or TOS. Reality is it would have been posted by someone eventually.

I was really joking ...more as in you shouldn't show this. Giving ammunition...to some, you know. Oh, I personally would never stoop.... no never me. I'm a saint! ......But, others....very well may. 03-wink

Im actually a little surprised Lobo's have come around yet to troll the board. They may have on the Aggie Board, I dunno.

Jans is going to kick the **** out of Weir twice next year. There's no doubt in my mind.

Paul Weir will end up regretting leaving NMSU for UNM. He'll be looking for a new job within the next 3-4 years.

I don't think there are any Lobo fans on CSNBBS. If so they are rare (like wolves in the wild). No MWC active board here either. There is an independent board that MWC fans use.

As for Lobo fans on Aggie fan boards, there hasn't been a peep from them.

RE: Chris Jans Officially NMSU Head Coach
As far as coaching Jans is a mega home run. Better coach than Weir by a long shot. Hate to say it but Weir hit the motherlode last year. Weak OCC schedule with a win over a weak Arizona State team, UNM and Utep having horrible years (and still lost to UNM once). He couldn't win the WAC, lost at home to Utah Valley and played Bakersfield after their 3 overtime game for WAC championship game. Jans will run circles around Weir and with Jans hire NMSU should win the WAC. Lets just hope he stays away from the buns.
