All of the negative comments about what Tubby Smith is doing, is contributing to the downfall of the program.

I agree. People on message boards are causing the downfall of the program. It has nothing to do with a couple of bad hires, a complete inability by those in charge to relate to their players, the virtually non-existent recruitment of high-level players and the complete apathy that has set in on our fanbase. It's all because we don't collectively scream "Go Tigers!" every time we get kicked in the groin by the latest negative news story about the program.

It is my understanding that media members, players, and recruits read this messageboard. For better or worse, impressions about the state of mind of Tiger fans are based on MT.org posts and I believe voices on MT.org have disproportiomal amplification.

Tubby and Watson should be thankful fans still care enough to post on Tiger blogs and call in to radio shows.

Lived in Dallas/Fort Worth for 13 years, and I would bet that 99% of sports fans during that time could not have named one player on the SMU or TCU hoops teams.

For Tiger hoops, apathy is the opponent, not fan anger. Anger means we still care.

Difference in "contributing to" and "causing" the downfall. Negativity can feed a spiral of failure, IMO. I've seen it first hand in business.

EDIT: To be clear. I'm not just talking about this anonymous message board stuff. Here is mostly a vocal minority. Talking more about the media, and game environments, IMO. Although this stuff here ain't nothing.

There's a lot of FUD surrounding the program, and it started before Tubby got here.
