Not to take anything away from the schools we still have to play, but glad we have those past three series out of the away.

Tournament will be fun this year. Probably 5-6 teams who could realistically win it

Great series, GS. Congrats.

That one stung pretty bad.

Standings by conference win percentage:

1. Cajuns 0.750 (remaining: UTA, Georgia Southern, Texas State, ULM)
2. UTA 0.722 (remaining: ULL, Ark State, Coastal, Texas State)
3. South Alabama 0.667 (remaining: Texas State, Little Rock, App State, Troy)
4. Coastal Carolina 0.639 (remaining: Troy, ULM, UTA, App State)
5. Georgia Southern 0.611 (remaining: Little Rock, Arkansas State, Cajuns, Georgia State)
6T. Troy 0.500 (Coastal, App State, ULM, South Alabama)
6T. Texas State 0.500 (remaining: South Alabama, Cajuns, Georgia State, UTA)
8. Arkansas State 0.444 (remaining: App, Georgia Southern, UTA, Little Rock)
9T. App State 0.333 ( remaining: Ark State, Troy, South Alabama, Coastal Carolina)
9T. Little Rock 0.333 (remaining: Georgia Southern, South Alabama, Georgia State, Ark State)
11. ULM 0.278 (remaining: Georgia State, Coastal, Troy, Cajuns)
12. Georgia State 0.222 (remaining: ULM, Texas State, Little Rock, Georgia Southern)

South looks to me like the favorite from this point.

Keep in mind that Division Champs are guaranteed 1-2 seeds in the league tournament, so UTA would be 3rd if season ended today.

Meanwhile, AState enters the easier part of its schedule with the toughest remaining series a home set with UTA. Going to have to push hard to get past Troy and Texas State for the 6th seed. More worried about Troy than I am the Bobcats.

Don't think you need to worry about us, we're 2-8 in our last 10, and presently in "freefall" as we race to the bottom . . .

It's been a while since someone brought up how important the #6 seed is. Good get by the fan who posted above.

Remember 7-10 have to play a first round game to get into the bracket. This is done to give some protection to the #1 and #2 seeds. 7-10 will all throw their ace to try to get into the double elimination bracket and will be throwing their #2 guy against the top two teams.

If you finish sixth, you don't play until Wednesday.

It looks like there are five pretty salty teams in the league. UTA still has the Cajuns and Coastal, but get them both at home. But their pitching numbers tell me they'll be in the race until the end.

Cajuns still have UTA and GS, but their pitching is pretty ridiculous.

I think the others are fighting for that six seed. And I'm not sure who my money is on right now.

6th seed gets really confusing because AState does not play Troy this season. Red Wolves have a slightly more favorable schedule as they are finished with CCU, ULL, and USA. They still have a home set with UTA and a road set with GS to go along with road games @ App and a Home set with UALR.

Troy still must travel to Coastal and host USA, but otherwise they face App and ULM

Texas State has issues. They lose tiebreaks with both AState and Troy if it comes down to it having lost series to both teams. They also still have to face USA, ULL, and UTA over the last 3 weeks to go along with a set against GSU.

If AState and Troy finish tied, we get into tiebreaks, which I think will favor Troy because they managed to take a game off ULL while the Cajuns swept AState. Trojans are in this position because they somehow lost a series to Georgia State.

This weekend could be a complete disaster for UTA, and with a Thomas-led Mavs squad, I usually expect it.

But this series, at least at this point in time, will have as much say in first place as the Louisiana-Coastal Carolina series did that grabbed all the headlines.
