ESPN FPI projects USF & Memphis to be favored in all AAC play
EDIT: These are the games each team is currently projected as the favorite (over 50%), not how many games they would actually win.

Memphis 11-1 (8-0)
Navy 8-4 (5-3)
Tulsa 7-5 (5-3)
Houston 7-5 (5-3)
SMU 6-6 (3-5)

If those projections hold, the entire West Division will go bowling, plus USF and UCF.

I know computer projections can't factor in a coaching change, but I would be shocked if Cincinnati went 4-8 again. I do believe USF will dominate the East division.

That would set up a heck up an AAC championship game with two ranked teams and the NY6 bowl bid

It's interesting that the FPI has Tulsa beating Navy and Houston, but losing to Toledo and Tulane.
Personally, I don't think it's unreasonable for us to be chasing at least 10 wins, and a conference title this season.

Yeah, projections are just that. Could be way off. But until we start playing, it's the best we have.
As for UC, ESPN projects you to beat Austin Peay, Marshall, Temple and UConn.
Losses are at Michigan, at Miami OH, at Navy, UCF, SMU, at USF, at Tulane, and at ECU.
I could see you pulling out wins against Miami OH, SMU, at ECU and at Tulane.Win 2 of those 4 and you could get to 6-6.

Agree. I don't see you losing to Toledo or Tulane. I think it boils down to Memphis or Tulsa for the West title.

You can say that about preseason basketball polls, too. So what else are we gonna talk about on sports message boards during the offseason?
You're just grumpy b/c your team is projected 4-8.

SMU will go 7-5 in the regular season. I'll let you figure out how we get there.

I wouldn't say they're worthless. But they're not the gospel truth either. I just see them as a generalized indicator on how your team is most likely to perform.
Honestly, Tulsa could very well lose to Toledo and Tulane and beat Houston and Navy. That's kinda how up in the air our team looks for next year. If we can get QB play that's 90 percent as good as Dane last year, we could be scary good just because of who we have coming back at all the other positions.

At this point most projections for Tulsa are worthless. TU doesn't even know who their QB will be this season yet.
