Basketball Recruiting Team Rankings
For all the grief Tubby gets for recruiting -

http://247sports.com/Season/2017-Basketb...erence=AAC

Up until the exodus, he had 3 recruits who held offers collectively from Bama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, K State, Ole Miss, TX A&M, Vanderbilt, TX Tech, Wake Forest, Florida, Florida St, Miami, Texas, USC, OK State, MS State, Providence, TN

RE: Basketball Recruiting Team Rankings
If you look at the average player rating Memphis is currently 9th.

Overall rating currently 51st.

I wouldn't look at it this way - UCONN is highest, but only has two 3 star recruits. Memphis has 5 commitments - 4/5 are 3 star recruits. The 5th being a JUCO All American.

A good comparison would be Houston - a typically strong conference competitor. They have same number of commitments but rank near the bottom of the conference.

When half your team quits and you have to recruit a large class then you cumulative number will be high.

That 44.58 rating is due to having a 5 player class. We are looking at a per player rating of 8.916.

Temple right below us has a 44.30 on just four players giving them a 11.0775 per layer rating.

Next is SMU 43.96 or 10.9825 per player.

Cincinnati 38.44 on 3 player or 12.153 per player.

UConn 37.48 on 2 players or 18.74 per player.

This class is actually as bad if not worse than people projected. More bodies but less talented bodies.

The 247 average on the page has us next to last in the AAC for 2017. At 84.33 beating only Houstons' 79.26.

But nice attempt to spin things.

I'll bite and use your own statistics against you. The reason the per player average is down is because Kareem Brewton is not rated. He is a JUCO All American.

KJ Davis of East Carolina is a 3 star recruit with a variety of low to mid major offers, sprinkled with a high major offer (in-state college).

Would you rather have Kareem Brewton or KJ Davis? Keep in mind JUCOs are less likely to be rated, but his offers speak for themselves against Davis.

If Kareem Brewton is given the same rating as KJ Davis (Brewton's offers are significantly better than KJ's) - we are #4 in per player average.

However, only 1 school is more than 1 point greater in per player average - UCONN - who only holds commitments from two 3 star recruits.

lol........ I'm not going to start today. You put a lot of effort into that. Just don't comment on an algorithm you don't understand. It's an obvious bad look.

But nice attempt to spin things.

lol........ I'm not going to start today. You put a lot of effort into that. Just don't comment on an algorithm you don't understand. It's an obvious bad look.

247 algorithm has us 9th out of 10 teams per average

Nope. Other people have explained this to you. The JUCO players aren't all ranked, so they default at 70.

That 44.58 rating is due to JJ and DN. They have a class calculator. You can see how each player affects the ranking. The algorithm scales the class once you start adding a bunch of players.

They are 42.47 with just the freshmen, which would be 3rd.

The tigers have the best class in a weak AAC. It isn't that great, but we aren't 9. Stop the FUD.
