We desperately need another quality PG to go along with J-Mart.

What's the word? Are we leading or just in the hunt?

I agree. He is very important. I don't know where we stand on him. I know he was visiting his hometown school in Toledo today. Hope we get him. Dude is good!

RE: Darrington is Key
There was an article in the Memphis Commercial appeal a week or two back that talked about the time that Coach Smith had put in developing a relationship with Darrington and his coach. I think he's also visiting Tennessee later, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

Here's the article:

It's between Memphis and Tennessee at this point. Darrington's a great player but so is Kareem. Kareem is a combo guard as well who can score the ball. It would be nice to have two combo guards but does Darrington want to coexist with Kareem?

Without Darringtion, our three point made percentage - among the very worse last year in D-1 - could contend the last spot.

Gr8 info Joe! This IS significant!!!! Our schools history of guards exposure to the ne t level is unprecedented!!!!! We have amassed a plethora of incredible talent through the channels of Memphis....If these guards can achieve through a system that Tubby employs here.....If they make ANY noise from the back-court,We would be the talk of college basketball once again.....Remember the headlines of "The four kings"? The pre-season hype was the talk of college bball......

We're NOT DONE ......I think we're either gonna get a shooter and Post player or another combo guard and post player.....NOT necessarily in that order....gr8 thing is that they will ALL have athleticism, which is really key to finish the play....and have a better presence DEFENSIVELY

Haven't heard anything on this guy for a little while. Crystal ball is now saying 100% for Tennessee, but who knows? It said 100% for Memphis like a week ago.

I guess he's going to take his visits and decide what he thinks is best for him. If we were out and he knew he was going to ut why not come out and say so?

The longer we wait, the less the chance. But we are obviously still a chance. Just unfortunate because I think we're waiting on this guy as a priority and it may be affecting other decisions.

I hear what you're saying. Not knowing anything or being in the know puts me in the dark. Obviously he could choose ut but I can't imagine why he would. Yes I'm biased but I've always viewed us as a better choice Basketball wise.

Me too but unfortunately the Josh Pastner Experiment set us WAY back. RC should have had the balls to tell Caulkins to screw himself and hired Coach Drew.

Damn Caulkins/RCJ

RE: Darrington is Key
Caulkins yesterday was commending himself on speaking the truth to challenge the university to improve itself. He actually used Larry Porter as an example of where he wanted things to work out but he had to speak the truth. I had to pull over and throw up. He left out the part of him campaigning for Porter to get the job ahead of Jerry Gray, and alienating Fred Smith at the same time. Then he turned on Porter so fast, with absolutely no accountability for the role he played.

Then there's the whole Scott Drew thing...
